  • @sammyslam1

    @sammyslam1

    I would say his avg's are also down due to having a more capable supporting cast. Now he has some options and doesn't have to carry the entire game, which can tend to slow down the offense and make The Mavs a bit one-dimensional. Now he has PJ who can get you 18-24 pts, Jones Jr who can explode to the hoop and get you 12-16 pts, we know about Hardaway Jr on occasion getting as hot as any shooter in the league, both Gafford and Lively are exceptional at catching those lob passes and finishing. Kyrie can explode for 24-32 pts. Luka is no longer stuck with one dimensional catch and shoot 3 and D players that when their shots are not falling, they really can't score in other ways. Their gm has done an exceptional job in my view and to be honest, i didn't like most of these additions.... I was wrong. If J Kidd is allowed to keep this type of athletic roster, i think The Mavs might actually threaten for an nba title, this season or next.

  • @tolstoyed

    @tolstoyed

    27 күн бұрын

    @@sammyslam1 that’s very true, but luka still takes a lot of shots, he just struggled to make them. and he has to take them because because they want opposing defenses to focus on him, which creates easier looks for his teammates. and his shooting percentages are way down compared to any other stretch in his career. i think the additions of pj are still pretty fresh, so they just kinda fitted them into the system they were already playing. hopefully they build of what they’re learning in these playoffs how to play together and luka and kyrie can both rely on other guys even more in the future
