The Gold Cube has been in production for over 8 years. Since then there has never been an improved version of their stock vortex mat until now. Say Hello to your next new tool for catching fine and ultra fine gold. The Saw tooth Mat.
It will outperform any other mat on the market for catching fine gold in the gold cube. While other types of low profile mats may have geometries capable of maintaining minimal water column turbulence, the sawtooth mat's geometries are unique in that they excel at creating and maintaining back-current eddies behind each riffle that help to promote the clearing of blonde and black sands. Promoting a greater percentage of area with fluid bed motion of captured sediments allowing for the rapid capture of extremely fine gold into the depths of the teeth.
This mat was designed around the gold cube's 14.5 to 15.5 degree angles. We've been testing this mat all thru out the 2018 season on the beaches of Washington state (which has some of the finest gold on the west coast, -300) and are impressed with the results. So much I don't think anyone else who uses this mat will disagree with the findings.
This mat works excellent on beach black sands and river black sands. The mat will not catch big gold like nuggets so have other mats in place. Easily rinse off or dip the tray in your catch water tub or bucket and have it cleaned and ready to go in less than 5 seconds. We recommend this mat on the top tray or bottom tray or better yet.... both trays.
We provide the pre-cut, glued and taped mat with instructions. We also offer just the mat as a kit with the proper glue and sand paper for $45.00 + Shipping.
The mat comes from the factory with a release resin on them and will need cleaning after installation with soap and water.
This mat is not mas produced from the supplier. There are some minor blemishes when constructing them from hand and they are not perfect by any means, but we only sell a near perfect product. The mats are glued together and taped, so small amounts of glue can be seen in the middle of the mat.
OK so the real benefits of this mat over the vortex mat.
1. More surface area and the geometry for catching fine and ultra fine gold
2. Easily dip and it clean it out in 5 seconds (no more spray or brush cleaning the vortex mat)
3. Never clogs up (does not hold beach debris like sea shell's, grass, roots, etc.)
4. Run 30% faster feed rates
5. Easy Installation with printed instructions included
I am so confident you will love the extreme fine gold performance of this mat, that I am offering you a no questions asked 30 day money back guarantee. However, should you wish to return your purchase you will be responsible for paying your own return shipping costs.
We do combine all products with one shipping cost if ordering more than one. We ship within 24 hours
Thanks for watching

I owned one of the very first Gold Cubes, yes the stock Vortex mat catches all visible gold extremely well, but yes I do NOT like the Vortex mat either because the problems with it are: 1)Every day before use it must be brush scrubbed to get rid of air bubbles. 2)Grass roots get hung up on the Vortex mat. 3) Very small rocks-stones get stuck in the Vortex mat and are hard to get out. 4)Clay plugs it up. 5)A little hard to clean out. 6)Good for concentrate clean-ups but WAY too slow feed rate for bank run material. Yes your new Sawtooth replacement mats might be the answer and a lot better than the stock Vortex mat. Also a Honda WX-10, 1" inch water pump is good to use on the Gold Cube.

It works very well. I have a section 16" x 24" of it in my big beach sluice which is 16" x 8' long.

Thank God this video isn't about the dream mat. So sick of hearing about the dream mat, and I've heard that it loses alot of fine gold too. I will have to try this mat

I would not say the dream mat loses fine gold, but it sure does back up when running fast and you get to take home 4x the cons then with any other mat. So im not a fan of it myself. But this mat plane and simple ROCKS!

Yup.... I have been using it for over a year. Guess you watched a couple of my vids..... I first used the sawtooth in a little cleanup sluice I made. Then into the Goldcube and a large beach sluice. The designer of the mat is a friend of mine by the way.

I don't have much in the way of vids ... just a few short ones. But i do beach mine in Oregon... Pain in the keister that it is...lol One of these days I will make it up to Benson Beach. Here is a short cleanup vid I did for a friend... I had covered the slick plate of the cube with deep V mat. I had made sawtooth mats for the cube as well but made no vids of that. There is a little cleanup sluice I made in which I place the saw tooth mat in and it does a great job. The Sawtooth mat is very efficient. Good vids.. Keep up the good work. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6dlppiIltmqZJs.html

I ordered two of the sawtooth mats a few days ago, I am planning on going to cape disapointment soon. I understand that the sawtooth mats are real good at catching fine gold, but what about in rivers and streams? Can it catch larger pickers and nuggets? Or would leaving one tray of vortex in the gold cube like in the second tray and the rest sawtooth be better at larger gold? Or would the sawtooth mat be better overall? Thanks.

Hi James, Yes the sawtooth mat is one of the best mats on the market for catching fine gold like beach sand size gold. Mike Pung of the Gold Cube approves it as the only mat to replace the vortex mat. As for bigger gold, yes it will hold on to a small pickers and nuggets simply because of there weight and size (any mat can catch those) compared to the fine gold. Vortex mat is good but the sawtooth mat out performs it in many ways, (volume, catch rate and Way Easier to clean out). You will find out for yourself. Use a brush to clean out the vortex mat, but the sawtooth mat just needs a simple wash over the riffles to clean out (no brush needed). May your pans be full of fine gold and thanks for your support.

What do you think would be better with the new Wave mat.... Sawtooth vs. Wave mat

At this time I think they would perform about the same. The sawtooth mat does that same thing of mixing up the slur of the beach sand thru back eddies after each riffle and dropping the gold down. I would keep the sawtooth mat in the cube since that is where it was designed around but does work well in a sluice. Thanks for watching.

In that final look at the gold, shouldn't it be UNDER all that black sand and not sitting on top? Its easily heavier than black sand. I would have expected the gold to have worked itself into the lowest part of the V's.

The black sand and the gold here are considered Hydraulic Equivalent, meaning the gold and the black sand are equal in size and weight. So that is why our gold is so hard to catch and why the Sawtooth mat was designed.
