Washington Beach Mining The Beach Is Loaded With Gold Day 1&2

Thai is day 1 and 2 of our six day trip to Washington for beach mining at Cape Disappointment. The beach is absolutely loaded with fine gold. The second half of the trip was fantastic it takes awhile to figure where to dig to find the best gold.

    Sooo nice to see sooo much gold, and you didn't have to freeze (too much) for it. If you ever feel like remaking your mats you CAN color them by adding cheap Acrylic Paint (.$0.87 to $1.67 Hobby stores, wal-mart etc.) to the silicone goo after the water bath. Mix it in quickly and completely and form the mat as normal. Takes about 20 mins to setup. I Avoid Cobalt Hue as that seems to inhibit the silicone setting up. Your videos are so much fun to watch when you are using your own equipment that you put together!

  • @alanrobertson2510

    @alanrobertson2510

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the tip we had a great time. I also found a way to color the mats by adding food coloring to the silicone before it's put into the dawn dish soap. Since I dig in mostly clay and you can't see the mats after five minutes anyways it's not that big of a deal for me. glad you enjoy my vids Thanks for watching.

    I do UK beaches, most of the beach is pretty barren, but try this, find a spot where the seawashes against a cliff, over 95% of the gold i find is in the first 10ft under the cliff.. the waves hitting the cliff and bouncing back then hitting the oncoming wave create a lowpressure zone and drop the heaviest material out first. Ive tested all areas of the beach and under cliffs was always best. ive a video trying to show it if you want to look

    Have been watching your progress with the silicone LEGO mats with much interest wondering how it would work on the black beach sands, and here you are in my own backyard testing it out for me. How cool is that. The weather does get gnarly on that beach but it sounds like you had it all. How do like that heavy sand? Lots of magnetite. About All I can do is 20 buckets on a good day when the days start to get longer. Sub micron gold for sure. Check it under a micron for sure. Rob is definitely the man in the know I got my cube from him. Many thanks for the vid.

    Hi Aaron yes you can run a high banker and use a suction nozzle on the beach the problem is how to get the water there is no way that I can see to keep a suction hose in ocean with 10 foot high waves coming in. Everyone that I saw running on the beach was hauling buckets of water up to their set ups.

    Hello. I am running a recirculating sluice box setup with a 1200 gph 12 v bilge pump. The sluice and mats are made by me. What you need to have with you for a permit is the Washington gold and fish pamphlet that you can get free online. I have done that before and it is a ton of work. Beach gold super fine and hard to separate from the heavy black sand. Nothing gets all the gold the first run you can keep on running it and get more gold. It's like a gift that keeps on giving.

Furnace is coming along. Just need to find something that I can use for the burn chamber that I can get out once the cement has set up. Also looking into cutting the parts out of firebrick with a hole saw. Hope to have something soon.

    @@alanrobertson2510 It just seemed to me that it was a long way to drive from Montana to Washington State for a bit of dust. I live here in West Virginia where the gold is liquid black or 30,000 feet deep and gaseous. (Marcellus shale gas :) There is a lot of history here dating back beyond the civil war. I am contemplating the purchase of a metal detector but with my spinal problems, I can't walk very far at a time. Maybe it'll get me off my butt. :) I moved here 18 years ago from Florida where black sand is unheard of. When we were having our land leveled here, I had the dozer driver shave an 18 inch high knob off the side of a hill to lessen it's grade. I was walking behind him and there I found a perfect horse shoe. No rust damage or anything. The red clay here kind of keeps the oxygen and, at 18 inches deep, most of the moisture away from such items. I like to watch the Alaska gold shows on TV and the detector hunters here on KZread. I had heard that back in the middle 1800's they were finding softball sized nuggets as shallow as 4 feet deep in North Carolina!!! People were selling their land in 4 foot by 4 foot claims and making a killing over the normal value of the land for farming. That "gold rush" didn't last long and some scientists conjecture that in the distant past, a gold laden meteor may have exploded over the area rather than it being a geological deposit. I'd like to get a war surplus mine sweeper and check out that place. They couldn't have found all of it. :) Have a happy, Jeff M.
