Saving These Dogs From Dog Meat Markets | The Dog Rescuers | Pets & Vets

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Across the world dogs are rounded up and sold to illegal meat markets which is a tragedy. Luckily the RSCPA is working hard to free these dogs from this awful fate. These poor pooches are locked up in cramped cages and the animal welfare team can't hesitate to rescue these lucky dogs.

Let us not forget how the dogs are treated before they are getting killed and eaten in Asia (f.e. in South Korea): The dogs are thrown into a fried pan ALIVE thinking that the meat is better that way. Or before, the people hang the dogs under a ceiling with ropes around their legs - STILL ALIVE - beat them with a stick because the people think that the meat of the dogs gets more tender. Sometimes the dogs hang on the ceiling so long, until the ropes cut through their tissue until they touch the bones. This is one of the most unspeakable, disgusting cruelty I have ever seen in my life. Thanks for saving some dogs to not suffer this destiny.

I a few years back was part of a movement that helped close down several dog meat farms, now I was just a keyboard warrior in it but the videos I had to see the horrors those dogs went through were so bad not only would we not submit the most horrible killers on death row to the treatment these dogs got but I had to take time away from helping to get my mental health back it was so shook by those things I saw. This all said bless all the animals and all rescuers that step up to big and small rescues. Thank you for being there for these pets.

I totally agree but what we all don’t get is how are they different then the horrific abuse and torture cows pigs chickens etc go through on a daily millions and millions treated in ways you could not even comprehend? We are not witnessing it but by purchasing and eating them we are contributing to that and have blood on our own hands. In the end we are as guilty of torture evil animal abuse without even leaving our home . Let that sink in

When they said eight dogs were rescued, my thought was how the heck do you decide which eight out of so many? But when they went on to say 200 were originally saved, that was more then likely all of them there. Glad they were saved and hope soon there won't be a need to rescue dogs from meat farms anymore.

I remember watching that Korean animal rescue show. Those dogs still alive in the cages were lucky to make it out of there. There were some found in the cages that didn't make it, and older remains of others long gone found under some cages. One of the rescuers yelled in heartbreak & frustration at the horrible living conditions. So glad they got them all out.

I truly wish the SPCA here across the pond cared this much! Support is rare, because they have very limited resources for handling cases that are "nearly problematic" and can only be involved if the case is SEVERELY problematic. Every single animal I've had has come from a home that could no longer care for them, whether financially or logistically. The funding is SO low and cut that an animal's life must be in immediate danger. Dog groomers reporting for serious neglect are told "at least they're trying" ... while the animals head right back to abusive home? Ugh.

Why don’t shelters play classical music so it helps them ? It makes a huge difference especially not having them go nuts by the constant barking which can cause them to loose there minds and not be adopted or be so stressful especially if they never been in that environment it cause be so stressful and terrifying they can act out viciously and be deemed vicious and loose there life over it. It makes a huge difference. They should know this .

A yeast skin infection sometimes it’s caused by allergies or fleas and sometimes they’ll need to stay on a powerful shot for the rest of their life which is like $60-$70 but that shot will be worth it in the long term effects. My dog is going to stay on Cytopoint 30mg for now on. It definitely helps her to where she’s not scratching her full off nor chewing on her self anymore!

Hoarders don't like to go out. They prefer isolation hence her not taking Tiny to the vet and not getting her nails cut. Many hoarders have had animals taken from them because of the house conditions. Before someone says judgement towards hoarders, it's from a compulsive disorder. The causes are mostly from the death of a very loved one. The other cause could be from extreme trauma in their life. Hopefully Tiny's owner will one day find the strength to go and get needed treatment

Why the UK is keeping 8 dogs out of 100 dogs rescued from south Korea and the rest came to the USA. America the USA has lots of dogs that desperately need a forever home. We don't need any dogs/ animals from other countries.

Does your country not take refugees from other countries, although there are disadvantaged people within the US? A good deed is a good deed. It's not about "need", it's about seeing the possibility to help and doing it.

I think the transfer of owners could be done better in a case where there's no neglect or wrong doing, like when the pet owner is too ill to look after the pets for much longer. They could for example get the dogs new homes to go to before they take them away. Instead of "we'll do our best to find them new owners, bye now". RSCPA do a lot of good for sure, but sometimes there's room for improvement in their way of doing things.

That would be great if they could but it's like when a person goes to the shelter; they don't usually know what dog or cat they want or if the animal will get along with any pet they may already have until they get there.

Lots of dogs enjoy doing the obstacle course & it's great exercise, especially for breeds that are working dogs & need lots of exercise. Dog obstacle courses aren't only used by owners in the UK; many dog owners in the US exercise their dogs with them too.

Many dogs enjoy doing obstacle courses. Many breeds, especially the working breeds need the extra exercise. Also, many dog kennels & resorts here in the US, Canada, & UK use them to give the dogs more & fun exercise. You & your dog can also enter competition doing courses all over the country.

@CAL THE FUNNY BUNNY Wrong story, but you’ve missed it on the animal welfare, too. Two major differences of dog raised for meat versus cows and chickens. 1. Dogs are carnivores, they are one step further down the food cycle, and so are massively worse from an environmental point of view. 2. Cows and chickens and dogs have all been domesticated by humans for our use. Dogs were never bred to be meat. They are social animals, literally designed to bind with individual humans, to be trained by that person to fill a role either working or being a companion. Caging dogs, denying them opportunity to socialize, to put them into a cage, not groom them, etc etc. is infinitely more cruel than to confine chickens in similar cages. Just as putting a goldfish in a small tank is less cruel that putting a whale in a similarly proportioned tank. The needs of the creatures involved have to be taken into account. 3. Raising animals as a source of meat is not, per-se, cruel. There are ways to treat livestock animals with care and have them quite happy.

@truth hurts Dogs are generally carnivores, but will eat some grains and vegetables, too. My point about the food cycle holds though, they are a step up the food chain, and they have to eat meat to be healthy. I agree that not animals are the same, that’s why I am more comfortable with eating certain meats over others. Humans are also omnivores, it’s extraordinarily difficult to thrice without any animal protein. Most evolutionary biologists link our ability to cook meat to the development of higher cognitive functions. Most people eat far more meat than they need, but I do believe that eating some animal protein is reasonable.

Well, watching this a little late in the day but I have to say that a much better solution to the border collie problem (if the problem really was not having the strength to take them for walks and groom them) would have been for volunteers to do that for her. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in failing health and to lose such a source of comfort by signing them over while still being healthy enough to walk around normally, and living alone. That did not seem right at all. The RSPCA should have offered her volunteer help but I'm sure they're not set up for that. Often seems like it's "sign them over" or nothing. Also too bad that these sibling dogs were separated from each other after 6 years as well.

  • @tandiparent1906

The larger the dog + more active breeds need more exercise. People need to research the breed before they get a dog to make sure that they can properly take care of them. People also need to quit choosing a dog just because they see it in a movie & think they look cute or tough or whatever reason. Border collies are a working dog breed & need lots of exercise. This should be the case no matter what country someone lives.
