I once found a dog at my local county shelter who had been marked for extermination - she was a biter, but I knew, all the way TO MY SOUL, I KNEW, that it was simply because she was SO SCARED. She had bitten 2 people already, and the people @ the shelter were NOT going to pull her for me. I stayed at that shelter for three hours, talked to everyone, I finally just wore them down - they let me take her because they were so sick of talking to me and me hanging around. It was obvious, I think, that I was NOT LEAVING without that one dog. Finally they said Ok but I had to sign this waiver that they would not be responsible for any injuries she caused. I put the dog in my crate in the car - she bit me in the process (not hard enough to break the skin but it did hurt some!). I got home and set the crate down on my kitchen floor - she stayed in there for awhile and then came out, went under the couch, and then stayed under there for awhile. For that whole night, I keep the house very quiet for her - no TV, no one could come over. I talked to her the whole time. I set a bowl of food down for her and moved away from it, but she wouldn't touch it. Finally I went back into my kitchen and laid down on the floor by the crate, my face turned away from her. After a long while, she came and lay down next to me, and then she put her head on my arm. I talked to her a long time, then I picked up my hand and she let me pet her. She wouldn't make eye contact with me yet, though. I had that dog a long time - almost 8 years. She died of old age, in my arms, as I cried and told her what a good girl she was. I named her Bettah, because the more love I gave her, the Bettah she became, until her heart was healed from the terror she felt from people.

Christian Labra normally I would agree but this video was made to help raise money for their organization which helps dogs so I don't think he made it to make himself look good. He definitely appealed to emotions really hard, especially with that cheesy background music, but it seems to work considering all the people who watch these videos.

Of course, when I watch these videos I stroke my biggest cat Sebastian and thank my lucky stars everyday that I found him and rescued him before something bad could have happened to him. He is the reason I started unofficially rescuing animals 4 years ago and will continue to do so until I draw my last breath. When I look at him I remember vividly every animal I have rehabilitated and rehomed. I do get a little teary eyed sometimes though just thinking about all of the horrible things that could have happened to him as he was abandoned at around 4-6 weeks old in a cardboard box on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere! I'm glad he was young though so he hopefully has no memory of it but it's amazing how one tiny bundle of fur can completely transform your life. For those of you that don't have pets: my saying is "a house isn't a home without a furry family member" so if you can adopt or rescue an animal then I can promise you won't regret it 😊

But that's still better than no home at all. I think many of the fosters would keep the dogs but that's just not possible if you already have a few. And I mean there were also a few videos were it was said that the foster liked the dog so much that they kept it.

I just watched the entire pit bull rescue Playlist, and it's very interesting to me that the little dogs I see being rescued always seem more aggressive at first. They struggle a lot more too. Lovely to see them get rescued and taken such good care of though. I hope all of these babies go to wonderful homes and get the love they deserve ❤

He obviously was NOT happy there. He was scared and abandoned. Had it been any longer, it would've had a worse emotional impact on him. That dog is blessed!

2:00 notice the way the dogs facial expressions quickly change from aggressive to happy as soon he starts petting... all the dog needed was some love.

I always love how the animal instantly feels so much safer the moment you're able to pet them the first time. You can see their defensive posture evaporate.

A few years ago during summer break I decided to volunteer in the animal adoption/control because I loved animals, my first day went well and I met 4 pitbulls they always jumped growled and spat when someone passed by even to me , I asked for info about them and I found out they had been there for almost a whole year just because they looked aggressive and they said they would be put down if no one adopted them in a couple months , I knew they were warm hearted dogs in the inside so instead of taking and playing with the other animals I spent more time with them , they were aggressive at first so I had to sit by their cage and talk to them , the next step I went inside and sat kinda away and talked with a soothing voice , the manager said it was too dangerous but I risked it during time I took them outside and walked them more often and before I knew it in two months they were nice creatures .. They never barked anymore when someone passed them they only wagged their tails, I fostered them for a while until people started popping up asking for them, they're now in good homes and i myself check in with the owners everyday to see if they're okay im just glad I saved a couple lives 😊❤

how could those person abandoned this beautiful dog..they must not get a dog from the first if they know from thier heart they cant take care a dog for lifetime.

I teared up when I saw that he was named Scooby. I had a Shih Tzu named Scooby who passed away about 2 years ago. He was my first dog and best friend with a feisty attitude. He lived 12 strong years and lives forever in my heart.

if you are only in the philippines I would adopt scooby. he reminds me of pompom, our pompoodle dog... shes in dog heaven now.

even though a dog looks dangerous they always have a happy side of them Dogs Are People to and its what. makes this earth the most beautiful place to live on💖

My wife and I were the one's who adopted this dog. He was a great lil guy. He took to me, but was unpredictable with her. This was most likely related to the severe neurological issues which began to reveal themselves after he moved in with us. Scooby displayed some very strange behaviors indeed, the worst of all would be when he would run around backwards in big circles and then power slide into the baseboard. Over and over again, non-stop for hours at a time. The vet speculated that he had beaten by someone in the past, resulting in neurological damage. It wouldn't be a surprise to learn that he had been abused by the people who had left him in the lot where Hope for Paws ultimately rescued him. He was a great little guy and now he's in a better place. RIP Scooby.

You need state legislation on microchipping all canines. Irresponsible owners would think twice on turning their pets that have become an inconvenience onto the streets. It will not stop animal cruelty, but then the perpetrators could more easily be brought to justice. It amazes me that most of the strays are purebreeds and none shedding dogs that need grooming care. We have a similar problem in the UK, but usually the owners are elderly or drug users. We have charities that help the homeless who have a canine best friend get vet care for their often parasitised and in need of neutering dogs. I expect you have similar in California. It is lovely to see how you manage to calm and befriend these frightened pooches so badly let down by the human race.

Tears are in my eyes....Scooby-Doo is the image of my late pets who were also abandoned but I rescued and I miss them so much. Love to the Hope for Paws service. ST Francis shines his light on you.🥰

I don't know a lot about this crazy world, but I know I don't like seeing dogs afraid or in pain and I do like seeing happy dogs.

i love how no one gives a shit about the homeless couple but hey at least the dogs alive.

***** yaaaaa obviously I understand that :p alls I am saying is as a society you know, maybe there should be a number that guy could call for the homeless folks AND the dog other than 911. I understand there are shelters too and humans are complicated these people could be past help for example. It's just, I get a weird feeling sometimes, hearing about the horrors we are capable of doing to ourselves but also the compassion we can show to animals. Humans are just a really interesting animal. And it weirds me out.

Keulu tL but dogs were once wild animals which were domesticated to suit peoples needs, not their own. And if you feel its our responsibility to take care of an animal that is homeless because of our actions, we should do much more for the homeless animals called humans.

Satan hates you and would love to take you to Hell and torment you forever. Thousands ARE in Hell already. Thousands more are going. Thousands don't believe in Hell. They will when they get there. Demons are waiting to torment them forever. ALL because they rejected Jesus and are evil. God created Heaven for all of us and wants to take everyone to Heaven. God is LOVE. God Loves you and wants to take you to Heaven. God so loved the world, he gave his only son Jesus to die for our sins that whosoever believes in him will never die but have everlasting life in Heaven. Jesus is the Truth, the life and the way. The ONLY way to Heaven. If you know the Truth, it will set you free from the bondage of Satan. Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross. Repent and receive Jesus as your Savior. Make the right choice. I Did. Don't let Satan control you and take you to Hell and torment you forever. You have nothing to lose. Jesus is Lord.

This reminds me of my dog. When she first meets you she's a bit "playful" and after she gets to know you she smiles!

Hope For Paws...what you guys did for this dog and all the other animals is truly amazing. I can't thank you guys enough for what you do, look at the transformation at the end, not many things affect my cold heart but this really did, i wish i could rescue every single animal out there that needs help, the thought of others like this breaks my heart, i volunteer at local shelters when i can but i wish i did this full time.

I believe that there is a special place in heaven for the people that do the work that you do. Thank you for sharing these videos!

It's sad to think about the homeless couple who owned him. They probably couldn't take care of him so they had to abandon him.

Me too. I chat to them and tell them to trust Eldad & Co, cos they are there to help and they will take them to a nice home. I can't help it, I see the doggo's eyes and know they WANT to be loved.

Not weird at all. As a dog lover I do it all the time, People look at me strange when they see me talking to dogs. But I dont care. Every dog needs someone to interact with. For me if I can cheer up a few doggys day people can give me funny looks all the time
