So not only the boy pull his dad out of the water, he gave him cpr and managed to drag him up onto an island. All while being exhausted and suffering from hypothermia, the boy is extremely inspiring

I honestly don't know how that kid PHYSICALLY saved his dad. That doesnt even make sense! It is incredibly hard to move someone who's wet, in calm shallow water let alone violent water, WHILE dealing with severe exhaustion and hypothermia. The fact he was able to pull his up on land...is insane. Props to that kid. That must've been some HEAVY adrenaline and determination.
@purpleirklegrovestreet

When you love someone enough you will go through anything to save them. His dad had most realistically been keeping his son afloat before and had used up all of his energy doing that and Joe probably used his last hit of strength to pull him back in. That’s just my guess, but regardless, their bond is unbreakable as we saw in the video and I was cutting onions.

@@muhammadibrahim5483 i used to swim daily for 10 years. One day, our instructure wanted us to try and "save some one". In other words, someone would laying on water playing dead, and you would have to drag them to the edge of the pool while they are not allowed to move I was paired with someone my size, almost my weight, she was 10 kg/25lb more. And I couldn't. I couldn't move more than one meter without feeling out of strength or air, and I was a good resistant swimmer! And that was in a pool, fine, you float better on the ocean but still there weren't waves at all I cannot imagine what inhuman force the kid must have gotten while watching his father almost die. Damn the dad will never forget that love and loyalty from his son saving him. Saved his life while barely being able to save his own. Beautiful.
Think about that. A 13 year old boy . Exhausted from hours of cold and swimming . Has the courage to get back into the sea . Lift the full weight of an adult. Carry him up huge rocks . Whilst getting cut . And performs CPR on him . Gives me chills .
Heart wrenching but ultimately heart warming. The kid is amazing.
what that boy did is a pure example of fight or flight. he fought bravely and they both survived, amazing.
made me cry hearing them talk about it
Kid is an absolute warrior. 13 years old, jumped back into freezing cold water, drug his father to the shore, carried him on his back up that steep cliff, gave him CPR an resuscitated him. The adrenaline is what saved the father.
"He's not heavy, he's my father" is how that song sings today!
how you know you raised a good Son I'm pretty confident he's going to make a pretty good papa himself, lately when you look on the internet or watch TV and see how many poor excuses for humans are out there this is the kind of stuff you need to get reassured there still is Heroes amongst us

Some people wish their parents were dead.. but when the parents close to death, you know that you need them the most. Remember that scene where Carl yelled at Rick for not saving Judith? Carl said “i wish you were dead!” But when Rick “turned” Carl put up his gun and said “i cant..” *you never know how much you need someone until they’re gone*
