Please, do and it's never too late to apologize for mistreating them. I wasn't mean to my mom, but I left home early and I moved almost ten hours away (for work). Our health declined, so we only saw each other three times in ten years. Last time I saw her was her funeral before mother's day in 2017, and not a day goes by that I don't regret not trying harder. I don't want others to feel that, so tell your parents you love them. Be there for them, and let them be there for you.

I have to admit, I cried a bit. My son was killed at the age of 31 13 years ago in an accident, and his baby sister died at birth 43 years ago, so I felt that when he said "My baby boy." Even though he was a young adult, my son was my baby, and my daughter would have always been my baby, too. Love seeing this, even though it was a bit hard emotionally. Made me miss my own dear parents, too, who died a year before my son did.

Usually this kind of emotional support helps more than medicine. When the brain is feeling down in the dumps, the body doesn't recover properly, but when there is positive reinforcement? We somehow tell ourselves we can do it for our loved ones. This is why I feel bad for those who die in hospitals alone, with no family or friends who visit. His injuries might not have been life threatening, but he is such a lucky man. Every visit counts!!

As a disabled veteran who nearly died in a horrific accident two years ago, this really touched my soul. As I lay in my car, thinking I was dying - I was able to fish my phone out and call my best friend to tell him what happened. He met me in the emergency room, and I’ll never forget how emotional it was for me (I’m in San Diego and my family is in Savannah). Don’t take life for granted - you never know when it’s your time.

I remember the last words my dad said to me. "I will never forget you". I was with him, holding his hand as he passed. it's hard to describe the feelings at that moment. A total sense of loss, but also a sense of relief because he was no longer in pain. But for me the biggest thing was being with the man i looked up to all my life when he needed me most. There is a song called In the living years, essentially it speaks of loss and regret, not being able to say goodbye. Take a moment everyday to think of all the people you care about. It doesn't cost anything and reminds you of what it means to be human. Remember one day it will be you.

For us MUSLIMS we must take care of our parents when they get old. And respect them no matter what they’ve done to us, bad or good, unless they’re asking us to do something against our religion. That what’s written in our holy book (Quran). Alhamdulillah. This is one of the verses that talked about the parents: Arabic: 17:23-17:25 {وَقَضَى رَبُّكَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلاَهُمَا فَلاَ تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّ وَلاَ تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلاً كَرِيماً*(23)وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيراً* (24)رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي نُفُوسِكُمْ إِن تَكُونُواْ صَالِحِينَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ لِلأوَّابِينَ غَفُوراً(25)} (23ـ25). English translation: And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word(17:23) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."(17:24) Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] - then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving.(17:25)

I told myself “don’t cry...don’t cry...” I cried. The Dad reminds me so much of my father-in-law. He was a dear, dear man and he passed away a few years ago. I still miss him. He treated me like the daughter he never had. I was fortunate enough to marry into a great family.

I’m 55 and just broke my right ankle last week, surgery yesterday, that made me cry, and I’m a guy, I miss my folks they have been long gone, my Mum 24yrs ago, I got to nurse her in her own home, so she died in her own bed, what a gift that was, my Dad gone 12yrs, seriously this just broke me up. Love is beautiful, a very caring family. Stay safe everyone. Peace from Australia.

That was beautiful! My family just went through a scare of not being able to locate my brother, and he wasn't answering the phone. I decided to start calling different hospitals and found out he was admitted with Corona. The not knowing, and not being able to go to, and in the hospital with your loved ones is scary and stressful for both sides. I was also crying, but I was extremely happy for them. I love the fact that, I believe, his presence let his dad know that he was safe and loved. awesome!
