I miss this band so much. I hope they make music together again soon...

I DJed with Richard D. James in my bedroom back in 1993 and he gave me a promo CD copy of his first LP! And the next day his Dad called and left a nice message on my Ansaphone (which I still have!) thanking us for the hospitality! How cool is that!

Starting out with Run the Jewels and Aphex Twin, yep, this is a good one.

Savages are so amazing live. I love how Aphex Twin makes the list on many of the artists featured on Amoeba; such a powerful influence. This is such a great series, it helps get into what makes the artists tick and what they're all about. I'd love to see Skinny Puppy featured here, or some other goth/industrial artists. (granted the Peter Murphy and Gary Numan ones are pretty awesome!)

You should watch Gerry by Gus Van Sant. Best use of Arvo Pärt Fur Alina ever. Not a romantic thing. Just two guys losing themselves both physically and mentally in Death Valley. Obviously Fur Alina wasn't meant for this. But the void between and inside the notes reflects on the void of Death Valley. Having been there, you can feel how the notes would hang there and be transported by the wind, completely intact. Such an underrated movie.

Must be very bright in there folks! But on a side note; Richard D. James Album, what a pick, that's my respect earned. Not to mention her inclusion of Steve Reich.

If you haven't seen Savages live, do it, do it now! Even in those awful multi-stage venues like Pitchfork where it's the middle of the day and hot. Everyone I could see around me was either lost in dance or utterly captivated by what they were doing on stage. You couldn't help but smile because it was madness!!

Still love you so much after all these years.... one of the best band after Joy Division with a kind of tom boy JEHNNY BETH.... love you all ;

what a cool band. all these picks are supercool and the reasons for them.

Arvo Part is my biggest influence. It's nice to see how far his influence reaches.

I love Jehnny Beth's taste the most, but I get the feeling she didn't end up loving that Ornette Coleman album. I wish I could tell her to check out Freddie Hubbard - Sing Me A Song of Songmy which she might love. Maybe I'll try to reach her through social media.
