Sarah Vaughan - After Hours

This was excerpted from the 1951 movie "Disk Jockey." I wanted to post at least one Sarah Vaughan video that wasn't here before. The two that I posted were on KZread previously, but had been removed. I'm a huge Fan and especially love the clips of her during her youth. By IMDb, this is one of her first appearences on the big screen.
Enjoy

I decided to search for rare Sarah Vaughan video clips and publish them here. What I realy dislike are those individuals who do post her videos and don't tell anyone how to obtain them. I'm still trying to locate a source for the London Palladium vids.

I'm replying to an old post, but I hope you find those London Palladium videos. For a while, a beautiful live performance of Sarah Vaughan singing "I'll Never Smile Again" at the "Night At The Palladium," lived on youtube, but it disappeared a few years ago.

Thank you for this; I'd never seen it. Any film of her from this period is invaluable. Though obviously recorded in a studio and sung to playback, it's still interesting especially as she varies a bit from the Colombia recording.

If there's a sync problem, it's due to my computer. I digitized this from a VHS tape. It took three tries before this attempt. They didn't lip-sync'd back in the 50's

James...I have a DVD of Disc Jockey (1951). It has this track but is missing The Weavers two songs. Roving Kind and Aunt Rhody. I am curious if your VHS copy includes the Weavers. They were originally in the movie. Thanks.

Even if she is lip synching she sure didn't have to. Listen to all the clips on youtube of her singing live. She was one great singer and she always sounded great. Her live recordings are some of her best.

@festerfree Yes, the voice used in West Side Story instead of Natalie Wood was Marnie Nixon who also dubbed the voice for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady and for Deborah Kerr in The King and I. She also played one of the nuns in The Sound of Music.
