Grew up listening to Sarah Vaughan because she was my mother's favorite. Had the pleasure of seeing her live in Las Vegas in the 70's. Still listen to her today...her music is timeless.

if it was only long: they're more accurate than diapason: she could do anything with her voice: the perfect pitch is the most beautiful gift anyone can get..., even there she's older and as time goes by, they tend to lose a bit of accuracy, she wa way better than her gift: have you watched all the black and white video live with her....simply amazing

That. That was magnificent. I enjoy how Sarah here, decades after the Clifford Brown recording doesn't drop the virtuosity. The tones roll fluidly. Marsalis is just as sensitive as Brown was on the record and quotes Brown well on the solo. Nice to see this and think about seeing her do the version I know so well in the studio. Thanks for this.

I know I'm going to sound really ungrateful...you wouldn't happen to have the beginning of this programme too? To open her segment Sarah Vaughan sings a soaring, operatic version of "Body and Soul", a rendition that informs an age. I have a segment of it on an old cassette tape and I don't know what I'll do when it finally, finally wears out. This, "Autumn Leaves" is simply phenomenal too. Thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful gift.

i think he looks like will smith I don't agree with a previous comment that this version is better than the recorded one in Sarah Vaughan w/ Clifford Brown. They are equally good. In this clip, sarah has a lightspot on her own; in the recorded version, I sarah has a great dynamic with other muscians, and the tone is more compact in structure when compared to what I hear in this clip.
