So, you dare tell me who to be?
Who died and made you king of anything?

yes very underrated, but then again not every singer becomes a superstar or is willing to go through the stuff you need to do in order to be a super star. I think many people here have songs on their list from people who are good and entertaining but never made it "Big time". I mean really, Brittney is a superstar and Sara isn't? Then again Sara didn't do her music videos in skimpy clothing to show off.

@celestinespringer4889
5 жыл бұрын
@@ericandrusca3549 It's one thing that a servant is not equal to a master. It's another thing to refuse to be a servant to some random person off the street who wants to be your master. Serving is a choice, whether you serve your husband or wife (you chose to be married) your community (you chose to give back) or your children (you most likely chose to have and keep them). Unwilling servitude is how you break a relationship, and is usually only maintained via physical, emotional, or verbal abuse.

Lilly Bell Sweet As Whole is so sassy. When you first listen to it, you expect a warm tender song but you actually have a fun drinking song instead
"So many things I'd say if only I were able" and "All my life I've tried to make everybody happy while I just hurt and hide waiting for someone to tell me that it's my turn to decide" are the most relatable lyrics from this song.
This is exactly how I feel about my father, I can not have a discussion about anything other than something as trivial as the weather without him literally shouting at me if I disagree with him on anything, I’ve literally only just found this song and it puts my feelings into almost exact words,
@curtisboswell2619

Hmmm.... One of these days, you're going to have to break it to him, that the first one to raise their voice in an argument, generally loses. That's the tactic of someone who knows they don't have a leg to stand on... so they want to shout down any opposition. Good luck with your Dad. I cut mine out of my life for fifteen years, until he got the hint. Ruthless? Nope... Just sanity. I decided at eighteen... My life, MY rules, my consequences. It's called personal responsibility.... and it makes me happy. I hope that you find what makes YOU happy, Luna... without allowing anyone else to make your decisions for you. Independence = peace of mind. Thus endeth the sermon.

You are not me Who made you king of anything? So, you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything? Oh [Verse 2] You sound so innocent, all full of good intent Swear you know best But you expect me to jump up on board with you And ride off into your delusional sunset I'm not the one who's lost with no direction, oh But you'll never see You're so busy makin' maps with my name on them in all caps You got the talkin' down, just not the listening [Chorus] And who cares if you disagree? You are not me Who made you king of anything? So, you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything? [Bridge] All my life I've tried (Tried) To make everybody happy while I Just hurt (Hurt) and hide Waiting for someone to tell me it's my turn to decide Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh [Chorus] Who cares if you disagree? I enjoy this song but the lyrics also drive me a bit crazy. It's good that she has song to let her thoughts out in but I can't help thinking it would be better if she'd just voice those thoughts to the person across the table. She might find she hasn't fully understood his intent. Maybe she has after all but I can't help but wonder.
Sara has gotten me thru many a bad time. To this day even! Thank u girl. U R a musical genius muse I’ll forever cherish 💙
It has been a decade but this song is still a treasure
Girl is humble, great, yet beautiful and tremendously talented
“Who cares if you disagree, you are not me!” Love it!💯
She deserves more she’s so talented and so underrated
She’s beautiful, her songs are well written and her voice is perfect ❤️
Sara bareilles is not like anyone I heard of. She sings about meaningful things, and she is just amazing.
I had a friend who reminds me so much of Sara. Always telling me to stand up for myself, figure my shit out and how I shouldn't freak out so much about shit. She was so sweet to a point then finally she would tell ya politely to fuck off. Like in this song. I miss her.
I love her music. She creates very catchy beats with great stories. She's a true artist!
This song is beautiful. It's one of her best songs. Outstanding
she reminds a bit of Keira Knightley!! they're both so cute! :)

King of Anything is very close to my heart. It was the very first Sara B song that I've listened to, way back in 2010. I was 14 years old back then. It's the 5th year anniversary of Kaleidoscope Heart's release. Thank you for this masterpiece, Sara Bareilles! You are a god.
I’ve never really listened to the lyrics, but today I did. I was amazed at how her messages universally apply to many people. I can think of a few people I would dedicate this song to
Sara Bareilles's voice is soulful and beautiful! I really admire her. She's so talented!

If you're in middle or high school, that was a genius move on the part of the choir director.

Huh, thinking about it this is actually a really good song for a choir to sing, musically speaking.
You know when you rediscover a song you had forgotten you totally loved? That's this song for me today! Seeing Sarah in the "Girls 5-ever" trailer, I could hear a song in the back of my mind, but I couldn't remember it - so glad I found this one again!!
I love her. She's so feminine and pretty and talented. This is a great, great song! I love how she is singing in this video with honest emotion. Or at least that's what it appears. You can tell that she's just a good person that feels what she's singing. I love it!
"Who died and made you king of anything?" That got me Loling haha!
I'd like to dedicate this song to half the men I've met in my life.

Why she's so underrated? She deserves more than music nad albums.. SARA is a legend!
I love her in the end with the dress and her extra sass.
I fell in love with this song several years ago and listened to it repeatedly, then changed my life. Brave has had the same affect on me. Here's to sharing your art and changing lives for the better. Thank you.
This. This freaking awesome song right here was the first one from Sara I heard, in an iPad game called Tap Tap. This woman´s awesome :)
