Say what you wanna say
And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave

And let the words fall out
Honestly, I wanna see you be brave

They probably are .. I sometimes just “ let go “ … people think I am crazy .. I probably am … guess what … people may laugh at you in public ) then they come to you and say they wish they could just “have fun” nothing crazy just be like “children “ … I say to them .. of course you can once you realise that there is nothing stopping you .. except you ..

Yet the song is based on a total lie. Women do NOT want you to “say what you wanna say” or “be brave”. They want you to say what they want to hear. The song should be titled “Say what I wanna hear” or “Be brave in a way I approve of”. And it also helps significantly if you’re good looking.

Be brave? Yes! Be careless? Not a good idea. This virus has killed a lot of people so far. However, I'm with you to not use more protective gear than you need to. Those in the medical sectors and funeral services also need them and we're running out! Please remember that stockpiling anything selfishly benefits one at the risk of others who really need them NOW.

I am 36 years old and I have suffered from social anxiety all my life. Until half a year ago I decided to start living; Making the decision to come out of the darkness was difficult, you can't imagine how much. It is a constant fight with my mind, counteracting the irrational thoughts that come to destroy me, this war seems to have no end... But I have found along the way tools that help me continue standing despite everything, and among those tools that help you face the day to day life is this song, a thousand and a thousand thanks to its interpreter for the wonderful work of art that he shared with us, you will not believe how some lyrics accompanied by a beautiful voice and melody can save your day, save your life. life... On the days when anxiety comes to knock me down with all its strength, this song has made it possible for me to get out through crying everything that is stuck in my soul, hurting me, by letting out what hurts I can get up with new strength to continue, to fight, to live... I write this with tears in my eyes because only those of us who suffer from social phobia know the hell this means, and how brave we have to be every day to carry out tasks that seem simple to the rest of the world. A thousand thanks to this song that encourages us to continue standing, to be strong and not lose hope, because we are important, we are part of a whole and we are brave! I wanna see you be brave! 👏🏻🤝🏻💪🏻❤️

I am a self taught ukulele player and song writer. A lot of people around the world love my talent, yet I haven't really played or sung in months due to personal struggles I don't care to admit. I feel so much shame for it and only wished I could find spark of motivation I once had. Tonight, while shopping at a hardware store, this song came on the loud speakers. I had never truly listened to it until tonight and I was in tears from it's beautiful lyrics. This is more than a pop song. It's a motivational anthem for so many. I hear the voices of gay and transgender individuals during Pride month, I hear black men and women during Juneteenth and other civil rights marches, I hear union workers striking against their bosses for mistreatment in the workplace and unfair labor practices, and I hear many who live in abusive or toxic environments who are afraid of speaking up or just simply leaving. I'm sure I've missed others, but that is the beauty of art no matter what form it takes. No matter your interpretation, if it invokes a powerful emotion in you then the art did it's job. I want to learn this song on ukulele not just to be a hit at parties, but to share in the inspiration and power this song holds. If this can give me the motivation to get back into something that brought me and so many others joy, maybe it can inspire others in the same way.

Sometimes I think that people think I'm sad or lonely because I'm introverted. I love my life. I just HATE talking to people. It's not like talking to people is scary or anything, it's just very tiring for some reason, literally like I've just run a mile. I'm happy with my small group of close friends and that's all the socializing I need.

Eric Weston I can identify completely. I am at ease doing lectures in front of a whole auditorium, but in general I also avoid people, because it drains me. I can go for weeks without a social. Just give me a bed and a book and I'm content. We aren't antisocial, just selective in our socializing:)

Eric Weston I can relate,I refuse to go any get together where I have to communicate with a lot of people,I need to prepare myself, convince myself even to go to the new computer class I joined, urgh I am just too lazy to write all the problems I faced and still face due to my shyness and introvertism..but I think I am slowly getting better at communicating, because I am going to attend the teachers day program ,which I wd most definitely skip if it was 2 yrs ago,not participating tho,my severe glossophobia won't let me do that!😂 But one thing that helped me whenever I hesitate or feel shy to do anything is.. *what's the worst that wd happen if I do this?* Don't know about others but this made me do things that I normally shy out from!

I can totally relate to what you are saying. But i dont think the message of this song is for us (introverts) to be more social. I think it's more about motivating people to be their true selves or do what they want to do and not to fear it or fear what others may think or say. And I think it can apply to many situations, e.g. coming out of the closet, or standing up to a bully, or living your passion, or whatever... be brave

And here were are a decade later and still continuing to fight the fight for it, sadly. But as Miss Bareilles put so well, now is the time to "show how big our Brave is..." We all empower each other to let that light that is within us to shine forth and expel the darkness from the world. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness That most frightens us. We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small Does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, As children do. We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; It's in everyone. *And as we let our own light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.*" --Marianne Williamson "*It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand In the center of the fire with me And not shrink back.*" --Oriah Mountain Dreamer

I'm 26 now and this song is always with me since i'm just a teenager. And here i am back again now. Crying like a child but i just an adult who's crying because of my mental health problem. It's been a while for me to try to take my own life. But keep trying so hard to find a reason to stay alive. I am muslim. But i'm sorry i'm only human. I'm not a religious person but i always remember i have Allah Swt. when i almost took my life. And i remember when He said in the Quran for not giving up cause He is always be there and not leaving me. And this song really makes me crying so hard. Like i'm telling to myself to be brave and be stronger. Not for my toxic parents. Not for anyone else. Just for me. Just be brave for myself. And be happy for myself only. Dealing with the schizoaffective is not easy. The trauma. The manipulative mother. The bad father for asking me to kill myself. The shitty old brother for telling me if i'm just a burden has nothing to do unless to kill myself too. And the younger brothers for not understanding me as their sister. It's really painful. But i wanna be brave for myself. I wanna be brave to take my another step for my life. Please. I just wanna see myself be brave. Anyways sorry English is not my 1st language so maybe there's a lot of wrong grammar here.

Sara Bareilles is so underrated it hurts. Seems like majority of people only knows her because of Love Song and Brave. I hope they also take time to dive into her other music as well--she has a new album called More Love and it's absolutely fantastic! Please spread the word :)

She shone every time, but I wish her forgiveness & rest in peace. We will miss you Kagney , but you will remain in my memory....

You can be amazing You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug You can be the outcast Or be the backlash of somebody's lack of love Or you can start speaking up Nothing's gonna hurt you the way that words do When they settle 'neath your skin Kept on the inside and no sunlight Sometimes a shadow wins But I wonder what would happen if you Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave Everybody's been there, Everybody's been stared down by the enemy Fallen for the fear And done some disappearing, Bow down to the mighty Don't run, just stop holding your tongue Maybe there's a way out of the cage where you live Maybe one of these days you can let the light in Show me how big your brave is Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave And since your history of silence Won't do you any good, Did you think it would? Let your words be anything but empty Why don't you tell them the truth? Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly, I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave Thank you for reading! This song is beautiful, yet painful to me, I want to speak up, to let the words fall out, but i have fear of how others will react when speaking in person i'm afraid that what i say will come out wrong, i fear my own mind... i have no problem with my actions, it's my words that i have trouble using, with actions, you can apologize and often say you didnt mean it, and people will act like it didnt happen. but words, words stick, you have control of you vocals and you cant accidentally say something that would embarass yourself, once your words are out, they're out and done... they're permenant, that terrifies me

The Redstoner Hey there, You are not alone. For most of my life i had the exact same thoughts until. I started following a new motto in life. LIFE IS ALWAYS BETTER, WHEN YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN (i know its pretty straightforward). Do not care what anyone else says, just let it out. I agree words cannot be undone, but they can be fixed, forgiven and forgotten. Just as the song states, you have to let it go, don't care about others and do what makes you happy(and be brave)! HAVE A GREAT DAY, AND A GREAT LIFE.

Same. Only it happened to me when I was a teenager. You know, people can say whatever they want about the whole #MeToo thing, but honestly, that helped me to break my silence. People, even some women out there don’t realize the amount of courage it takes to break your silence about something like that. It took me nearly a whole day to decide whether I should share my story about that experience or not. Breaking my silence was literally the most liberating thing I’ve ever done.

I love this song and Sara so much, I swear I'm responsible for like half the views :) and to all of you saying "if i spoke my mind I'd be suspended or kicked out" the song isn't really about speaking your mind. It was written for her friend who was struggling with coming out and its about not being afraid to be yourself and be honest and true to who you are

This song makes me cry almost every time I hear it. It hits close to home because my cousin committed suicide in 2014. I miss him a lot and this song was played at his funeral. I love you, Timmy. May you rest in peace. I will be brave for you ❤

That's hell of a strong message. And all meaningless punk comments have more views, likes and comments than this. Irony.

Bella Lewis I am starting to let go of my fear too. I am starting to dance and sing infront of people and I never thought I could do that. I love to dance and sing and I have been doing it for 5 five years in secret and now I am letting it out!😀 I am doing the talent show at the end of the year and I am super excited!😊💓❤
