I saw a post on tumblr saying that Sara Bareilles' songs were fuck you lyrics wrapped in an upbeat positive happy song and it's so right. Love those.

If I'm not mistaken, that's basically what "Love Song" is. Record execs or whatever wanted her to write a love song, but she didn't want to. So she wrote that sassy song in response. That's the story melted down quite a bit, as I don't remember the entirety of it, but yeah you are right. :)

Well... this song isn't really tearing down the guy. She's just broken up about it, and trying to figure out how and when she's going to get over it.

It's 2023 and I still think this is one of the most underrated music videos of all time. That somber message wrapped in an upbeat sound and quirky visuals. Just perfect.

I lived in Mass at the time and didn't have a car or any way to get to New York or I would have been there. I could have seen Joan Baez live. At least we have the video now.

I don't really think it is. I think it's more like, you're heartbroken and gutted about your break-up, but you eventually will get over it, and this is the first step to achieving acceptance. It feels more "determined to feel happiness again" to me than "desperately trying to sound happy but failing".

This song is so good for many reasons - A good moving on bop. Helped me a lot during hard times. It acknowledges the pain but also celebrates it. - Not only for relationships, but also for mental breakdowns and other issues I dealt with, its insanely helpful at that too. - The song and the video will always, always put me in a good mood. It is so cheerful, beautiful and colorful, nothing can beat it. - Because of this, its a perfect song and video to play when navigating scary places. I just feel transported to that supermarket and I feel less afraid to ghostly powers lol. Bless Sara for this masterpiece.

Whoever directed this video is genius

This song got me through one of the hardest times a few years ago. It was like my sadness just disappeared whenever I turned it on. She's the best, honestly. I mean for me, it wasn't a relationship, but joining a fraternity, and the fake friendships that came with it. After seeing how they treated other people, I spoke out against it and was dealt a world of negativity from the Greeks and my school. Songs like this and King of Anything gave me the strength to say F it, because I couldn't stand by and let what they would do continue.

I keep trying to figure out why "Brave" and this song make me so happy. It's not the kind of music I usually listen to. I realize it's the -videos- that give me such happy feeling and the songs just bring it back to my mind every time I hear them. Thank you, Sara Bareilles, for having people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and colors. Sometimes, it seems like other musicians are complacent when it comes to diversity. I really appreciate your work.

She is the only person that still captures the art of the music video. I didn't like brave and then I watched the video and fell in love. I'm actually strangely addicted. I find it strange lol but I just love her. Its ridiculous haha

It's like a Disney Princess pushing people in LA to become in the same fairy tale land.

Sara Barellis , I really like her songs. This one is very upbeat and energetic. I'm sure she attracts alot of people.

I only discovered this song a few days ago. I’m going through a major life change and this song has saved me. It’s so uplifting and stops me from feeling down and crying at how my life has turned upside down. Sara, you probably won’t read this, but I want to say thank you. You are the epitome of what female role models should be.

It must have been hard for Sara to sing that bad in the end of this video. She is very talented.

Just ended a relationship. This is the second person I've fallen in love with. This song got me through my first breakup and it will get me through this one. There needs to be more songs like this instead of the come back to me type but the I'm strong and I'll make it and I'll love myself and that will be enough.

I relate to this so much... I'm currently going through my second break up right now with the second person I've ever been truly in love with. I know it'll get better, I've been through this already and I'll be fine, but it does get hard at times. Thinking about the future helps a lot though, and I hope you're doing better now too :)

Man, she's great!!!! Just pure fun and talent!!

This whole song + video is made of nothing but win... that little musical dip from about 3:14-3:40 is **Chef's kiss** just an extra side of absolute awesomeness. I soooo want to write a comic book style anti-hero or supervillainess based on Sara from this video, who just has zero effs left to give.

I'm half watching this video for her kick-ass dancing!!
