    Hi, Anjali: I'm not sure what you mean by 'index visibility'. Could you rephrase the question, or provide some more information?

    Hi Dirk, is it possible to create a guided tour in a way that it can be opened anywhere in the process (i.e. with some sort of context recognition)? The idea is to create a smart guided tour that only shows relevant steps and omits certain parts

  • @EnableNowExpert

    @EnableNowExpert

    All Guided Tours have context recognition. And they should pick up with the first step applicable to the current screen/page. So from that perspective yes, it's possible. With SAP Companion you can choose to skip a step if the associated object is not found on the current scene, but you can't really have if...then logic (yet...). Usually it is cleaner to have separate GTs for each scenario.

    Our system uses SAP Business Application (I think is what it's called) the icon is a blue bird looking thing does this only work with the browser version of sap?

    So that is SAP (NetWeaver) Business Client, which is an slightly more modern interface than SAPGui - but, critically, it's not Fiori. So you can record simulations, but you're not going to be able to provide in-app help for it using SAP Companion (fka Web Assistant). But you CAN use SAP Companion for Desktop (fka Desktop Assistant) with it for in-app help - and for the most part it looks and feels the same anyway. So short answer to this and your other comment - yes, you can absolutely use SAP Enable Now in conjunction with your SAP system.

    Hi Dirk. Could you show me how you generated your custom certificate?

  • @EnableNowExpert

    It's complicated, and usually gets wiped every upgrade and you have to redo the customization. I can put together some basic instructions, but it will take me a couple of days to find the time. I'll reply again when I have something (but it'll cost you a coffee...).

    The entire idea of the tool is off - first you need a team to build the library, how many business wants to pay for it? Second, the interface is terrible, again, classic SAP, over engineering and put the efficiency at the lower priority as part of product design. User will start to vomit if you ask a $15-$20 an hour user to move their mouse all over the screen to read, understand the terminology, then comprehend and learn on their own. NO WAY this is better than hands on recorded training! Teams is the way to go. Lower cost and very flexible!

    Thanks for your comment, but I disagree. Thousands of businesses use SAP Enable Now, and it is a very effective tool when used to its full capabilities. Any truly effective learning content needs a team of training developers; just 'capturing a video of someone demonstrating it' is not 'training'. I believe simulations are much more effective for providing hands-on training/practice, are much more flexible (jump-in points, different modes, etc.), and are easier to maintain. The in-app help provides targeted help just where it is needed, and only when it is needed. You don't need a whole video if you only need to provide guidance on one or two fields. But more importantly, the in-app help is not supposed to be 'training' - it is to help users in the flow of work. Asking a user to go find a video recorded in Teams when they are in the middle of executing a task in the system, and then scan through that video looking for info on the one field they need help with is in no way easier than having them click on a hotspot directly on the screen and seeing instant help (without leaving the application). But, horses for courses, and I respect your choice to consider alternative products.

    @@EnableNowExpert data entry should be automated as much as possible that’s the true value that SAP has failed to deliver, again, again and again. The combination of Winshuttle and teams can easily increase the efficiency of data entry by 50%. Not another expensive SAP tool that increase cost without increase efficiency immediately. As a medium size business SAP IT manager, I wouldn’t recommend this tool to the business, bcz I just don’t see the true return of it other than another expense. We have offshore shared service centers where the true turn over is. I can’t imagine if they are trained through this tool without hands on raining. They will never be able to be productive.

    @@sunwm2003 Ah, well... SAP Enable Now is absolutely not intended as an automated data entry tool. And having 'training content' enter data in a production system is a hard No for many companies. That said, that capability does exist in the classic SAP Companion for Desktop, and data validation is rumored to be coming to SAP Companion (for Fiori) in a future release. // High staff turnover is exactly the use case for SAP Enable Now - you have recorded simulations and eLearning packages that can be used consistently, over and over again (and Practice mode absolutely provides 'hands-on' training) without the need to schedule F2F training, or use job shadowing. If you're interested, it may be worth contacting SAP for a more detailed demonstration of its use cases and capabilities. But if your mind's already made up, I'll simply wish you good luck with your chosen applications/platforms. 🙂
