Santa Cruz Bicycles Factory Tour Behind the Scenes - Behind the Brand
Спорт
#santacruzbikes #behindthescenes
Our Behind the Brand Series sets out to showcase the people, passion and hard work that goes into making the brands that we know and love what they are.
In this episode we travel to Santa Cruz, California to visit one of the most iconic California bike brands. Our tour guide, Garen Becker leads us through the assembly factory where Santa Cruz Bike's staff were more than happy to show off their hard work ethic and goals to reduce plastic and cardboard waste. From there we stopped by their wheel building department and wrap up in their prototype and carbon room.
Enjoy the ride as we cruise through the halls and learn more about the people, the mission and what makes Santa Cruz Bicycles the brand they are.

im sad santa cruz!
I used to skate Rob Roskopp Santa Cruz boards in the mid 80’s!!
By "factory" -- they mean workshop that assembles components from Asia, and does some R&D. Still a cool facility and fun bikes to ride.

Dream job!!! Working for Santa Cruz Bikes!!!
Have a 2016 and 202 Bronson and a 2016 Juliana. Haven’t trued any of the wheels since we bought them. Santa Cruz makes some great bikes!
Now that I am a proud owner of a 2022 5010, I can say that it is an excellent bike with a high quality team behind it.
Santa Cruz GoodBike favorit 💙👍🙏
Love Santa Cruz, my favorite brand.
Proud owner of 2020 Bronson. I'm beyond glad they are donating to trail building and admitting hard to sell bikes without trail networks. Would also be nice the big manufacturer companies team up for EMTB trail advocacy. As always great content from the loam wolf crew can't wait for the next.

This is one of my favorite things Loam Wolf, or anyone for that matter has done on bikes. I don't own a Santa Cruz but found this extremely interesting. Would love to see more of this from other bike (and components) brands.
What an awesome factory, so much detail and high quality. You can see why Santa Cruz are market leaders in what the do!
@tallboda668

They arent the Leaders. Santa Cruz is a company owed by a dutch family that also owens other companies and they all do earn round about as much as a German company...

Not a factory, they make nothing. Looking for the frame welders…maybe they forgot them.
Iv been smashing my Megatower for a couple years now. The quality is unmatched in my opinion, great company.
I have a 2006 Santa Cruz superlight. It was pricey and a loooong delivery time but they made good bikes with the frame came from Taiwan. After my first frame cracked riding normally around Washington, DC, no crazy jumps (I'm only 153 lbs) but was covered under warranty except the shipping the frame to Santa Cruz and the diagnosis from the local bike store which cost me an additional $200+ and now my second frame making a clicking sound (most likely another crack) I can thank Santa Cruz bikes for pointing me toward Specialized. Pound Sand Santa Cruz.
Sweet video. Would love to see them bring manufacturing back to the states at a competitive price. It would be neat to be a part of that process.
Amber is the BEST!!!
Haha its funny how blank he was as they went in the machine shop. Appreciate them guys, they work hard
@ 2:04 I think you listed the Tazmon bike release date over a decade too early. That said, 1994 is very early for a FS bike.
For me Santa Cruz will always be a Skateboard company first and foremost !
I've been riding Santa Cruz bikes and have been shredding the trails nearby since I was a young man. Life's been good.
Rob Roskopp!! Skater!!! Yes, It's the same Santa Cruz Skateboards who made some incredible decks!
Thanks for the tour. Love what the brand stands for and that they are active in the community and trails across the country. I've got 3 - tallboy CC, Stigmata CC + just got my Heckler CC eMTB a few days ago. Had to search across the country - finally found it in New York state. Came by the factory and took the Heckler for a test ride a few weeks ago. Can't wait to get mine out on the trails and climb some hills.
This was really dope and interesting to watch, good job on this video you guys. 👌🏾

It was sensational. So many amazing bikes to choose from, it's the smaller details that matter when deciding on a brand. I thought this was Loam Wolf's best work, and really hope they continue diving deeper into different MTB bike/component brands. Things like how build even their non Reserve wheels in house, or the charitable causes they're taking up. The passion the employees have and use of cardboard over plastic for the environment. At least for me, those things matter and I'm happy to pay a premium those things.
Garen!!
Dude that place and yeti sound like the dream to work at. I wish I could ride a SC to work everyday.
Just ordered a Santa Cruz Nomad C; can't wait for it to arrive!
Got a chance to stop by their headquarters on my way back from this year's Sea Otter and pick up some wearables. Everybody I talk to in the the showroom was easy to talk to and answered my questions. It was also the week they dropped the new Chameleon and had on display in the front window.

I love this video. Content and format are on point. I love the mentality of Santa Cruz! Thank you for posting this video.
QUE FANTASTICO...!!! QUISIERA TRABAJAR CON USTEDES.......
Thanks! Really cool to see their production processes. Proud (and now even prouder) Bronson owner. Owned my first SC in '99!
JT!!! What a Legend!!! I worked with him at a bike shop back in CBus before he headed out west, amazing guy!
OMG I want that Oragne frame. We all know there are two sides to every story but that looks and sounds like a cool place to work. The ride your work perk/points is a cool idea.
What a great bike company!

pretty cool , I had my first Santa cruz Heckler way back 1990 something the first in my Canadian town of Fernie , then the second gen Heckler, then Bullit , tried some other bikes and just last week I picked up a 2020 Hightower , looking forward to be back on a Santa Cruz .
I raced the Australian DH circuit in 2000 on a V10 by far the best bike I've ever ridden. Luv Santa Cruz 👌👍
Wow! Sta Cruz bike my dream bike I love it so much.
South Carolina here! Proud owner of chameleon ❤
I love how SC keep up with the true riders and still having comercial success. Its the story of a brand that stay loyal to his philosphy and made of that his best value.
@RockyPondProductions
2 жыл бұрын
Well the commercial success can be attributed to being owned by world wide conglomerate in Pon Holdings. It gives them a large capital backing and a bunch of marketing. The reason why Santa Cruz has seen a bump in popularity since 2015 is because they have a big company that helps push them to shops.

Just spent 6500 on my new Santa Cruz...and then find out it's frame is made in China. If I would have known that before hand, I wouldn't have bought the POS.
Love this brand. I have a Nomad 3 and just built up a Megatower. Loam Wolf thx for the great video!

On January 28th 2022, I just bought my first Santa Cruz, I got a 2022 5010 Carbon C S build. I see that this video was published on December 9th 2021, maybe it’s my bike they are building at time stamp 4:57…I know it’s probably not, but I’m gonna pretend anyway. I’ve always wanted a Santa Cruz and very happy:)

Thanks for the tour, my dream bike❤️❤️❤️
Loved this tour of the SC factory. I live in Australia. I own a 2018 Blue/ Mint Santa Cruz V10 XXL & a 2020/2021 Battleship Grey V10 XL. A friggen huge thank you to all employees at Santa Cruz for producing a bloody awesome looking & riding bike. Would not ride anything else. The wheel truing machine is insane. More to come!
My next bike will be a Santa Cruz, based on their ethos. Brilliant. Stay true.
I once heard my LBS owner( trek store) say “almost every child’s dream is to own a Santa Cruz bike”. My dream came true this year and I MUST say, after several bikes, my Megatower is the absolute best bike I’ve ever owned in every way. I’m living my dream 😎
Cool machinery

I didn't have any regrets buying my hightower this year, and this made it somehow more solid seeing the quality I got for my money. Santa Cruz rider for life right here

Yeah G! All according to plan.
Going on my 5th Santa Cruz bike: 1- Heckler, x 2 Tall Boys, a Blur, and now can't wait for my aluminum Chameleon to arrive (help :) )! Always great bikes to ride and share with my kids! Happy Holidays SC! Thanks for the Tour!

Fantastic job on this one!
Great video. Loved it. Great brand. I was a skater in the 80s so always connected with the SC brand. I’m moving to the west coast next month and will buy an SC bike.
This is so awesome! I love my megatower !
SANTA CRUZ BIKES ARE THE BEST!!!! I OWN a 2000 HECKLER I 2003 and never looked back I have all kinds of bikes and SC is the GOAT, about 10years in got new Crank and swing arm bearings put in that's along for stock stuff to last. I,ve ridden this bike hard and the frame still pure true. I'm 61 years old that bikes 21 and we both need suspension work but that's next, at least for the bike. One thing about this bike people still stop me on the road and try to buy my HECKLER all can do is smile and RIDE OFF to the next trail. THANK'S from NOR-CAL!!!!!!
