Zeshan, it was remarkable how consistently Atta Fareed sahib praised his mentor and friend NFAK and even his nephew, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. There were moments where his nostalgia and yearning for an era that has come to pass was very palpable. While we all have such nostalgia and pang for times past but we do so privately with rare witnesses. In the case of Atta Fareed sahib, so many witnessed the magic of that era of NFAK. We saw the ways that these original crew members dazzled the world with the improvisational and transcendental power of qawwali. Many of us imagined the energy and innovation that must have been at the center of NFAK's version of qawwali. How does one come down from the high of being a party to that creative engine?!

Brings tears to eyes! The great Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan saheb and party was god's gift to all of us. Unfortunately, we only have Ustaad Atta Fareed saheb and Ustaad Dildar Hussain saheb with us now. Long live these great people, who have enriched our lives beyond words. Great to see Atta Fareed sahib!

Even im this old age, you can appreciate the class that ustadh Baagh has. I can only imagine how amazing Ustadh would have sounded at his peak, in person
