I have a issue with a 4l80e that i built cant seem to get the torque converter to go all the way in new pump same pump i took out 512 was the part number on the pump gears are in the right way and the they move free the converter is new it's a Precision New Hampton i mached the part number to make sure it was the same for that year and motor there is nothing on the splines like on the input shaft or in the converter no Burrs on them dont get it you bolt it down to the motor and the converter moves free tell you spin it to the bolt hole to put the bolt in it's like the lip on the converter hub wasn't cut right it needs more you can feel the middle pump gear is tight to the back side of the pump ask me how i know any ideas?

Dave I have had a hard time in the past as well. I've started installing the converters with the trans standing straight up and down.
