You know Oda initially made Sanji to be French as an inspiritational background, but the Actors pretty much turned him into Kung Fu Gordon Ramsay and that honestly fits hilariously well.

Actually he was based off of Steve Buschemi's character from Reservoir Dogs. The French thing was added way later in an SBS (basically a Q&A) when someone asked where each character would be from if they were in the real world and Oda replied "Well, I’ll just put what fits with the character’s image." then replied with what countries he thinks they look like they'd be from, with Zoro being from Japan/Nami being Swedish/Luffy Brazilian/Sanji French/ etc.

Can we appreciate just how damn good the kid was in the flashback? The leg scene and his emotional shock at seeing Zeff having eaten his leg was brilliant👏. From someone who had little to no knowledge on One Piece before seeing the live action, I have finally began my journey into the anime and am now on episode 5. Imagine to truely adventure to the land of wonder, to find the rare spices, the ugly fishes, the strange sea creatures, and then put them all on them to map of the world. Man, these are my childhood dreams.
