I took a lostwax class ages ago and asked my teacher if i could cast silver and bronze in the figure i was doing. He said he never tried before so lets do it!! It worked. I cast the bronze first then put the other part of the wax mold on the bronze, invested it and cast the silver. You are the first person ive come across attempting two metals! Supercool. Rip metalsmith god Jack Finch!
You're a wonderful teacher, thanks so much, and beautiful ring !

I've just found you today. I have found it difficult to understand the Sand Casting process. What a wonderfully informative and easy to understand tutorial. Thanks so much.😊
love this Kirra-lea
Beautiful outcome. Very clear instructions given
Nice instructions. I bought a similar aluminum casting can after seeing some of your technique with guiding the molten metal with ventilation holes.
This is so cool! I have a few questions though: 1. How do you hallmark the mixed metal ring? Do you use both gold and silver hallmarks? 2. Did you calculate your gold and silver weights first to know how much to melt? 3. Do you use separate crucibles to keep your metals apart from one another? 1 crucible for gold and another for silver? Thank you for this awesome video!
A wery good idear, I’m going to try it cause I have a little bit of gold left - too little to use for anything else 😬👍🏻

Seems sand casting is not meant for rings and jewelry. They do sand casting in Pakistan's heavy industry. Finer results are achieved with silicone for high temperatures.
amazing! i'll give it a try. thx for sharing

It will be a great way to use up the last of your metal!
❤❤❤
wow blown away is an understatement ... Thank you for sharing this mixing of metals video I am all over it like a hobo on a ham sandwhich but I have a problem with seperation I can solder but am reluctant to try ... I did gold pieces first then cast silver on top so I am guessing do the silver first and then throw gold next ... is that right or what do u suggest i do to join the metals i already have cast i could send a pic if i knew how ... haha Dean
So beautiful! I'm curious, Do you use a different crucible for the gold?
First ❤
Is the gold pure? Is the silver pure or Sterling ? Beautiful.
banger
Quick Q if you get a failed cast with this how would you separate them again 😅
So cool! How strong is the join between the two metals

Pretty strong, you wouldnt be able to pull it apart. In this ring anyway. But I always add solder for peace of mind :)
What holds the pieces together? Is the metal actually fusing?
Hi! Whats the name and band of that stunnin dark blue hair dye civering Your forehead?❤
Could you do this with copper or bronze
I love your videos! So you have a course or subscription channel?
I am totally with you until 8:36 , I can even do that WITHOUT adding the stopping crumbles of sand!!! Actually I would say I'm an expert... 😜
