I am a Panjabi who graduated to Karnataka music after listening to Hindustani classical music for years. When I heard TM Krishna sing 'Krishna Nee Begane' i could not hold back my tears because I thought he sang from the depth of his heart. Now that I know better about him, I wonder how he could pretend so realistically. He just made a show of it, for effect, while seeing Krishna 'on the broom' in his heart. This man has great skill . I would liken him to a 'bhrashta yogi. He has fallen prey to what is fashionable,...wokeism and all that goes with it.

U r saying u r Punjabi who learnt Carnatic music, I don't believe that, because u don't even know the basic tenet of Carnatic music , which is Bhakthi, true devotion to our Hindu deities, and u r saying tears rolled down from yr eyes on hearing TM Krishna's music...Goose bumps...Even that lunatic, Christian Missionary supporter is against this , because he doesn't believe in Hinduism and he is for substituting the words of Rama with the word Jesus, as also he is a supporter of EV Ramasamy Naicker who garlanded the portrait of Lord Ram with Chappal Mala. And here, in the social media u r telling cock n bull stories. In Tamilnadu, majority of both Carnatic Musicians and common people r against this Perhaps u can do one thing. Start a movement for reforming of AbrahaMic religions!

That was a good hint Dushyant made at Barkha when he referred to the journalists who were at the forefront of making vicious attacks on the current PM Modi, in 2000s & 2010s and who have changed their stance now. Barkha was one of them & she had a sly smile☺️. There is one other who is still seen on a TV News Channel but he has not changed much.

But that is a moot point, this is not about jealousy, this is about integrity and principle, and that is what people like Dushyanthji and other musicians are voicing their displeasure, if you are even going to the extreme hitlerism that these people have no right to be upset or voice their displeasure, then, I dont know what to tell you, hope you know what happened during Hitler's times..

It is absolute nonsensical to request condemnation from Annamalai for all the issues. Let us admit very openly that Carnatic music is for a set of people belonging to certain castes. Therefore, this is not a critical and livelihood issue that must be condemned. E V Ramasami Naciker must also be condemned, since he had prejudice, animosity and hatred towards two caste i.e. Iyer and Iyengar.

Kudos to Ranjani and Gayatri for taking a courageous stand. It is not sufficient for artists like them, and others such as Vishakha Hari, Ravikiran, the Trichur brothers, and Dushyanth Sridhar, to boycott the Academy; like-minded Carnatic music Rasikas should avoid patronizing it. The Academy president, Narasimhan Murali, said, "According to me, they are disappointed that they have not been awarded; that is at the root of all this." These statements only indicate the arrogance of a rich, senile man. Ranjani and Gayatri have been quite vocal about their disagreement with T. M. Krishna's attitudes and behaviors for a long time. Their opinion was not formed recently after the award was announced. In fact, the two sisters have every qualification that makes them more suitable for the Sangita Kalanidhi Award than T. M. Krishna. Krishna most likely got this award (and others) because of The Hindu Group's nexus between T. M. Krishna, N. Ram, and N. Murali. In fact, how is the award decided? Does the Academy have any democratic process for it? What qualification does N. Murali have (besides being rich) to make him eligible to head the Academy?

Will a musician who is a follower of Hitler, praises him and supports his ideology be given a Grammy Award even though he maybe the best musician. Ramasamy Naicker was a hate preacher who has even insulted the Tamil language. He was not just against the unwholesome practices in Hinduism but also hated it wholesale. He was a separatist and Nehru called him a madman who should be locked away in a lunatic asylum. The blessed Carnatic music is not just music but is based on Hindu values & culture. One of the iconic & leading exponents of it was Tyagaraja who was a Rama bhaktha. There were many others like him. To extol a man who supports EVR, who threw slippers on Rama & other Hindu idols & insulted certain communties is to disrespect this genre of music. Carnatic & other classical & devotional music are holistic & include values. It is not just music but expression of devotion or bhakthi to the Divine in the form of deities. Anyone who openly or is proved to be flouting this should not be honoured by a prestigious Academy, even if the person maybe technically skilled. Though I empathise with Chinmoy personally I cannot go along with her stand taken on this matter unless those whom she accuses have been proven guilty. If they are proven guilty, then the Music Academy should denounce them. Her support for this Krishna guy is just quid pro quo & not based on objective assessment of principles. He supported her then & she owes him now.

If TMK really wants to take carnatic music to the masses, he should use his influence with the current ruling govt in TN and advocate teaching CM in govt schools.. Will he be able to do that ? The moment he does that he will be brutally attacked by the DMK that he is trying to impose brahminism and sanskrit in TN.. How does singing in mosques and churches help ? Are people ( read non brahmins ) really waiting in queue to learn CM and they are being prevented ? If someone really wants to make a revolution they will do so without much noise and be persistent in their effort. He is just using the DMK time and tested toolkit.. and coming especially ahead of the elections has all the signatures of their agenda

Deplorable Views By TM KRISHNA ON KASAB HANGING: The first concerns capital punishment. The laws of our land are, purportedly, founded on certain moral guiding principles. But I fail to see any moral justification for capital punishment. Not very long ago, when we fought and earned the right to govern ourselves as a nation, we did so by wielding a very powerful weapon - ahimsa or non-violence - one that defeated the enemy not militarily but morally. Isn't it anachronistic then that today we seek to punish criminals in the most violent way possible: by taking their lives? The judge who condemned Kasab to the gallows proclaimed that he was inhuman and undeserving of any mercy. But is it just being merciful to spare someone the death sentence? Isn't it also the morally right thing to do? Agreed that any punishment must be proportional to the gravity of the crime but if we are serious about preserving our identity as a nation founded on the principle of non-violence, shouldn't we at least debate the morality of capital punishment? By TM KRISHNA ON KASAB HANGING Mr TM Krishna hope you are made to serve in BSF for 5 years. Would see whether you speak the same rubbish after that experience.

Is it not amazing the spectrum of people now included in conversations and opinons? Who would have thunk that a Nama wearing Iyengari would be on a Burkha Podcast? How times have changed. People forget the intent and the reason for Carnatic music was to express Bhakthi. It was a medium of reaching and realizing the unity with the divine. It is really incomprehensible what T M Krishna has done. Not everything comes under the purview of secularism. Secularism is not for individuals but for a state. Individuals are never secular. Periyar was Hitler's avatar. That is essentially what he was. It is sad that Tamil Nadu politics revolves around him. I am apalled at how idiotic the questons on casteism are. Lessons in music do not carry a Caste or Religion declaration. First of define what would constitute casteism and then ask question within that framework. When you say there is casteism in Journalism today please give an example if you have not already defined what it means. Lack of representation is not as bad as discrimination. We have had 70+ years of Independence and affirmative action. If there is no representation then what are we talking about? We often mistake representation to discrimination. Which is it? Is casteism lack of representation or is it outright discrimination? Can we use Islamic then for all terrorism? I understand people now have sanitized it and say Islamist.... it makes sense because most terrorism is carried out by these folks. That is not true of Caste Discrimination. Brahmins are a minority in this conversation. They are just made the scape goat for everyone else.

An outstanding analysis by vid Dushyant In Karnataka during the 11th century AD Sri Basavanna discarded Brahminism (though he was a Brahmin by birth) and started his new Shaiva Movement. They are called Shivasharanas. we the Brahmin Community Musicians and dancers have been using their vachanas in Performances. Their compositions in Kannada are highly spiritual . we never discriminate between Shivasharanas and the Haridasas. And.... Pandit Fiaz Khan and few other Hindustani Musicians are treated with immense respect in Par with Brahmin artists. . They also sing Haridasas and Basavannas compositions in most of their concerts. It is evident that where Pure Music rules the world, there has never been casteism or caste based groupism. Music is Universal and so I strongly stand with vid Dushyanth Beta

He is a man of great talent but no self discipline. It’s like a man having a bag full of gold but no penny to spare. I am reminded of C.Rajagopalachari’s comment to Adi Sankara’s Bhaja Govindam. “Adi Shankaracharya wrote a number of Vedantic works for imparting knowledge of the Self and the Universal Spirit. He also composed a number of hymns to foster Bhakti in the hearts of men. One of these hymns is the famous Bhaja Govindam. The way of devotion, is not different from the way of knowledge or Jnana. When intelligence matures and lodges securely in the mind, it becomes wisdom. When wisdom is integrated with life and issues out in action, it becomes Bhakti. Knowledge, when it becomes fully mature is Bhakti. If it does not get transformed into Bhakti, such knowledge is useless tinsel. To believe that Jnana and Bhakti, knowledge and devotion are different from each other, is ignorance. If Sri Adi Shankara himself who drank the ocean of Jnana as easily as one sip’s water from the palm of one’s hand, sang in his later years, hymns to develop devotion, it is enough to show that Jnana and Bhakti are one and the same. Sri Shankara has packed into the Bhaja GovindaM song: the substance of all vedanta, and set the oneness of Jnana and Bhakti to melodious music.” If TM Krishna claims or his couturiers claim that he is an epitome of knowledge in music , it’s totally wrong .

The Madras Music Academy may as well offer T M Krishna a garland of chappals as the award......that's all the award is now worth! Shame on them and shame on Krishna for all the abuse he has needlessly and unjustly heaped upon his own kind! He truly has lost his marbles!! If other musicians who are slated to perform have any shame they too would boycott the entire proceedings. To share a stage and thereby endorse the Music Academy's decision would be like spitting into the hands of the ones who are offering you food. Musicians, especially those from the south of India, owe their entire life's earnings to the bhakti-laden compositions of the Trinity and other great composers who have provided the ´food' for their performances.

Carnatic music and bakthi are twins and one cannot be separated from the other. T.M.Krishna looks like widening the area by changing the nomenclature as Dravidian Carnatic Music. In addition to singing in praise of Lord Rama, Krishna and a host of other deities of Hindu religion, musicians will start singing in praise of Allah, Lord Christ, periyar, kalaignar and other leading personalities. T.M. Krishna should start a music college to train musicians in the way in which he expects others to sing. Opening the Sabhas by meeting the demands of T.M. Krishna and othders, Sabhas will have a sound financial health as years pass by.

"Brahminical hegemonism" is an imaginary phobia beaten to pulp by most selfish people with the greatest ulterior motive. Brahmins WHO ONCE LIVED IN TAMIL NADU before 1967 (the year DMK for the first time came to power in Tamil Nadu by false means) were the most timid and peaceful people. Most of them lived a simple, non-violent lives. Brahmins were not landlords. A handful of the whole community may have owned lands granted by Kings in olden times. People belonging to other forward communities have dominated the economic fortunes and lives of the villages and the rural areas of Tamil Nadu. They were not Brahmins. Periyar never did in his life and DMK would dare not oppose these other forward communities. DMK only for the purpose of political gains divided the Tamil Society by creating false fear-mongering amongst the weaker communities. DMK's adoption of what Periyar once said (which campaign utterly failed in Tamil Nadu over the years - his own party, Dravida Kazhagam, lost all its relevance, even in his own life time).was and has been only for the purpose of dividing the Society and garnering votes to win elections.

While EVR unleashed his acrimony towards Brahmins and only Brahmins he kept his silence on other communities. Today the other communitites hold that hegemony (EVR and his ilk talked (talk) about over the lowest of the communities . None of these holders of this hegemony is confronted by even the elected government let alone the society. A case in point is mixing human faeces in a drinking water over head tank and that water tank served the downtrodden. The government remains silent even to this day and the higher castes rejoice in this happening !

WHY doesn't he sing a devotional song on Periyar or a Broom ON STAGE in the music Academy ⁉️ I am a 'low' caste doctor (AN AGNOSTIC) who is practicing for the past 40 years and love ALL forms of music- CARNATIC, HINDUSTANI, WESTERN and some in languages which I can't even identify .I have downloaded Christian and Islamic songs based on Carnatic music and enjoy hearing them.I thought music was the one art form that transcends ALL barriers till T.M.Krishna popped up and cast aspersions on the beleaguered Brahmin community! There is no denying the fact that caste does cast a long shadow on almost of all walks of life in India thanks to diehard rightists ( who I think are slowly undergoing a change in mindset to evolve with the times) and the WOKE Leftists do their mite to muddy up a sensitive social issue! while the Machiavellian D.M.K. party who has Periyar as their icon and who want to crush Sanatana Dharma like a mosquito whose leader goes on record to say that he doesn't need Hindu votes to come to power but shrewdly arranges an ALL Murugan devotees World Meet ( Lord Murugan being branded cunningly a 'Tamilian' God who was cast out by the SANSKRIT speaking North Indian GODS ( his parents Siva & Parvati)!
