I have the newest GearVR that came with the Note9 connector in the box, and I have to say, it's miles better than all those generic "cardboard" experiences. It's more akin to the Rift and Vive than those generic versions. I'd even go so far as to say that the response time is better than on the Vive I have access to. On PC every move you make have to go through a cable to the PC and then back again to the screen wich generates a smal lag. On Gear VR everything is done internally on the phone, so much less data-travel, hence reduced lag. It's really smooth and at least the Note9 doesnt even get warm after heavy use. Recommended.

This is really cool.

Good guide. Any recommendatons on how to fix the issue of overheating. It heats up the phone really bad in a few minutes. I upgraded the the Samsung S9 phone to the latest firmware.

Dude even in 1440p you can see pixels because its too close to your eyes but its not that noticable and in 1080p i think everyone uses that currently

It’s designed for the Samsung phone exclusively far as I know. If you want just look for VR apps on the App Store. You can try one of these remote but I haven’t tried any of them. Good luck to you. www.amazon.com/slp/vr-controllers/4f2urdmh3qmh74r

Not true. I have one with an S9 and it's awesome! In order to get the most clear content though, you will need to download and not stream. Even if your connection is really good it will never be as clear as a video downloaded in 4k or higher. My recommendation.....buy it!

Far as I know it isn’t compatible with that model unless you call Samsung and get an adapter. The SM-R325 originally came with a Type-C connector in the box which was intended for owners of Note 8, S8, and S9. The Note 9 is however slightly wider and shorter than its forebear, measuring at 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm, as opposed to the Note 8’s 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm, making for a decidedly imperfect fit.

There’s a power input on the bottom to charge your phone

forgets to tell everyone you need a facebook account and it doesnt work without facebook account. so if you dont have a facebook account it wont work. Also its ready hard getting started. took me a whole day just to get the basics working. avoid like a plague

You forgot compatible with Note 9, yes ppl, if it fits the note 8, it will fit note 9, there no difference, and no!!!! You dont need a faceboock account!!!!! Thts only for extra features but u dont need facebook, is optional, you do need to create account for oculus, thts where ppl get confuse thinking u need to create facebook account but u dont!!

@@TechSteve But the headset can not be used without Facebook. I needed a VR headset for my medical limb mirroring app. But I have to have a facebook account to use it. In the past this worked without a facebook account. And you can't opt out of ads or certain other features used by facebook. I don't want friends to interact with or any of that other stuff. I literally bought it for one purpose and I get all this extra stuff. It would be fine if they had been up front about it because I wouldn't have bought it.

It's a piece of crap. Too blurry, have to keep adjusting focus.
