Sir actually it works. In that case I would like to recommend you to visit any Samsung official store & show them. I think if there is any update, then they can install it & I hope they can guide you better. The way I showed you in this video is the only proper way to use it. That's why I am telling you to consult with them beforehand. The VR services are still there & it hasn't been discontinued yet. I hope you are using the accurate compatible devices with your VR i.e. S series or Note series smartphones. Other models are not supported. Yes, the phone you mentioned is not supported sir. It only supports Samsung's S-series and Note-series smartphones. Not any other brands smartphone. Unfortunately, you can't use your device with this particular Oculus V.R. Headset. This V.R. is only compatible with Samsung's S-series & Note-series smartphones, but not with others. Hence, your Samsung J8 is not compatible with this V.R. Headset. You have to purchase any other company's V.R. headset to fulfill your desire. Sir, I understood your question. Actually, it's not always sure that this particular Samsung smartphone will work with any V.R. box. It is not the case that it will work with all other V.R. boxes available in the market that means it may work with some & might not work with others. That is why it is better to purchase the original Oculus V.R. headset for fulfilling your purposes. Moreover, as the note 20 ultra is a high end flagship device it's better to use it with the original one rather than those which are available at a much cheaper price. It might be not good for you Samsung device as well. I would like to recommend you to purchase the original Oculus V.R. Headset for more smooth, easy & comfortable virtual reality experience. To get the app in your Samsung device you have to insert the V.R. connector inside the Samsung device's charging port. Then remove your device from the V.R. connector after few seconds. Now, just follow your phone's on screen instructions & you will get the app automatically installed in your Samsung device. No, the gear V.R. headset stops working when you disconnect your phone from your V.R. headset. If possible everytime try to remove the adaptor that connects your phone to your V.R. after use. Thanks for supporting my channel and I hope you will Subscribe to it too.

Hello sir, Welcome to my channel, it seems you are new to my channel & so do Subscribe. First of all, Samsung S20 is a compatible device to be used with the Gear VR Headset. Since you are facing these issues, try these steps once. Try to uninstall Oculus App from your phone and restart your device once. Make sure that no existing files related to the VR exist like the Oculus App and the Oculus store app. Make sure that your phone is updated to it's latest software version and also make sure that it's not rooted/jail broken. Now, try to insert your phone to the VR Headset and do follow all the on screen instructions and install the apps once again as if you are doing it in a new device. No, nothing like that, it will run smoothly no matter which android version you are using on your smartphone, it doesn't matter. Once, you plug the device in the port then, at the same time remove it also, a pop up menu will appear. Then, you need to follow the on screen instructions to install that software on your device. Do one thing by removing the port pin from your Oculus VR & connect it back in place, then connect your device back again, I hope you will see the pop up menu, if not let me know. Also, do the whole process while you are connected to a stable wifi network of your home. Thanks & let me know what happened. Okay.

No not compulsory. You can just create a new account with your email id, set the password of your own choice & you are good to go sir.
