Hi! 18 year old Gen z here.. I was introduced to this new world of crooners when I was 5 and I'm so glad to have such a pretty taste in music

im from iraq andi m 21 years old and i cant find something else better than Sammy....

If I had to pick one, it would be Sammy Davis, Jr. for best male entertainer of the 20th century (female choice is probably Judy Garland). His breadth and depth of talent was staggering. His sheer exuberance and touching eagerness to please was so heartwarming - he couldn’t give you all he had to offer fast enough! He made himself vulnerable to give us all those extraordinary gifts from heaven - thank you for the hours of joy, SDJ, and blessings to you and yours.

Sammy Davis JR out sang Sinatra, Martin, and (needless to say) Carson. My favorite vocalist EVER!!!

All things considered, THE greatest entertainer of all time.

A blessed person and he didn't take it for granted. Opened many doors for many in America. Thank you Sammy Davis Jr.

Hollywood made sure everyone in the scene had a piece of chicken in there hand in the first clip of young Sammy...but he helped paint a better image of African-Americans through his God-given talent throughout his career. Love you Sammy!

There will never be another Sammy Davis Jr. My dad loved to dance and smoked. He passed away the same yr. as Sammy. What a talent and what a personality.

One of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. Love the end when Sinatra tells him to loosen up, so so he goes limp, then says "You may be my leader but I'm gonna punch you right in your mouth!". Ah, seeing them live must have been something else.

I grew up with The Rat Pack from a black and white tube TV. I crashed a sunday coffi visit when I att th age of 7 did a Sammy float over the table. The porcelain went in all direction and the little 7 year blond kid went straight ahead till the table ended. Well, dont expect creative and joyful kids always balance between reality and fiction :D

I remember when i was a kid watching SDJ I thought wow he blows all the other entertainers clean out the water.

did you see and hear how he finished the song (hullabaloo-start of something big)? after dancing all the various dances - the jerk, watoosee, etc. he finished the song with a high strong note effortlessly. WoW!!!!!

I am forever grateful to my dad for introducing me to this man's music, artistry and phenomenal talent. I was probably 5 sitting in my dad's car listening to Mr Bojangles. Dad's car had a record player in it. The first of its kind in London, England - it was 1963. There will NEVER EVER be another Mr Sammy Davis Jr. Sweet dreams, Sir. You will always be remembered by this man. *looking up to heaven*.....Thanks Dad, I love and miss u always :(

Hi re rcord player. did it play 45's Has a philips mounted under dash played through the radio in my 1955 Pontiac Star Chief Hard Top Convertable in '62 and sammy 45's

He was amazing. There will never be another as gifted. I loved watching him on those TV variety shows in the early 70's when I was a young child of 5 or 6. But, one of the coolest things about Sammy Davis, Jr., I think, that most people don't know, is that he was a close personal friend of another legend, James Dean, before Dean was discovered by the world.

The best entertainment I’ve ever seen my favorite person lucky to see him perform at Radio City Music Hall Mr Sammy Davis Jr also when he hosted the MDA telethon from New York City

He was extraordinaire entertainer. On stage at the Sands (I saw him), you could see his multi-talented performance, especially when Frank gave him a hard time from the audience as it seems that he didn't know. The Rat pack was an incredible group of entertainers and unfortunately, irreplaceable.

Sammy Davis, Jr. is the greatest one-man all around entertainer of all time. If there is one who can sing, tap dance, play musical instruments like trumpet, sax, violin, drums, xylophone, guitar, piano, be a stand up comedian, impersonator and act, please name him/her.

Check out the late great Michael Bennett, creator of A Chorus Line. That's him second left at 3:05. He and Donna (the original Cassie), were both dancers on Hulabaloo. What a jewel.

The best all around if you say to ever was, Ben Vereen, The Hines Brother, Saven Glover, Michael Jackson. all took a little piece of Sammy and incorporated into their own.
