I saw Sammy perform in 1988. He did this song and got a standing ovation... I clapped so hard my hands hurt. You can't really sum up the talent of this man in words... When I saw him for the first and only time in 88 he was reaching the end of his life, and despite being a heavy smoker man did he still have the lung power! I never saw an audience so in awe of a performer quite like I did that night. He was a true master! Although he was a fairly small man, put him on that stage and he was the tallest man in the world! We won't ever see talent quite like this again...

Bluetone Pony You know why I think that is? There are people out there who can sing and dance I guess, but the biggest thing that is missing between those people and someone like Sammy Davis is CLASS! Sammy had class, grace, style... Those things seem unimportant in the entertainment industry of today.

I'm 22 years old and never got the chance to see him perform live, though i can listen to him forever, I put a thumbs up on this video back in 2008 and now almost christmas 2014 I'm listening to it for the 100000 time thanks to my stepdad making me grow up showing me what actual music is! Music made nowadays can't cope with this, not in the long run! This is something we really should preserve for future generations so they can hear this too!!!

Kaputt. Unten. Bitte ! Einmal noch. Los.

This version is the best , no disrespect to the Nitty Gritty Dirt band that done the original . Yet this song has nothing to do uith Bill Bojangles robinson .

+conor thomas The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band didn't write this song. Jerry Jeff Walker did and the Mr. Bojangles he wrote the song about was White.

That awful Bruce Forsyth thinks he can sing as good as Sammy. What an embarrassing plonker he is. Sammy can never be upstaged. RIP
