Same but DIFFERENT: 15 ADVANCED and Intermediate ENGLISH Expressions COMPARED
Sometimes the way that intermediate speakers express themselves and advanced speakers in English is different.
In this video we look at 15 words and expressions that a native speaker would use but (probably) not an intermediate level learner of English. So if you wish to push up your level from intermediate to advanced this lesson will give you a nudge in that direction.
Intermediate and advanced English lessons with subtitles on our youtube channel. Brought to you by LetThemTalk language school in Paris (and sometimes London).

As an advanced-level English learner, I find your videos like this one so helpful. When I speak to native speakers, they often think my English is good enough though I still feel the difference between how I say things and how they say things. It’s also very frustrating sometimes that I have to stick with a simpler way of expression but intend to convey something deeper and more nuanced. Though others still get the idea, I think I could’ve phrased it better. It’s so hard to find teacher like you who’s able to break down what makes native English native and gives practical guide for advanced learners on points of English language above and beyond correct grammars
Technology has made it easier for students to learn with new devices , but NOTHING CAN COME CLOSE TO THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING TAUGHT BY AN INSPIRATIONAL TEACHER LIKE YOU !!!! You are a practical man of great dynamism and good character. I'm inspired by YOUR VARIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS , but also by YOUR ATTITUDE and VALUES SWEETHEART !!!!!!!!!!

I'm from Canada and agree with you. While we have British spelling and some expressions by osmosis - thanks to the Commonwealth - there are several words that seem to be used in the U.K. only. For example, here you would sound pretentious as a native speaker to say, "Fancy a curry?" I do appreciate these videos, though!

I truly got confused with the "I'll think about it" part. I'm not saying this is a stupid video for people to watch, just wanted to point out this is a phrase used on daily basis. I'm a writer, therefore, I have an extensive vocabulary. I've used words like "meditate" many times, which I find even more formal or poetic al than "mull it over". I don't even know how that can make you more fluent or not. Please, LetThemTalkTV, don't take offence. I just think those two words (ADVANCED and Intermediate) could be... misunderstood, for people speak differently all over the world. I mean, not only in English, in general terms.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! You're the best! Words aren't enough to express my gratitude for this interesting lesson. Cheers G.
