Thanks, for your amazing comment. I don't think my future lies in rap music but I gladly accept your compliment.
I came to the conclusion that when you're becoming more advanced in learning a language it's far better to be taught by native speaker rather than by the teacher from your native country. There were many grammar aspects that I was unable to comprehend even though I was taught by good english teachers in Poland. When I began to watch LetThemTalkTV videos I understood them within minutes.

I don't entirely agree. There are some great teachers of English who are not native speakers. There are also some bad native teachers.
I challenge anybody in the whole world to find a better teacher than you !!!!! You've set a great example for all of us to follow , you've inspired us to be better people and to always strive to do our personal best. THANK YOU for being such a bright spark sweetheart !!!!!!!!!!

GIDEON, YOU ARE AWESOME! Love the way you explain grammatical issues and offer a huge amount of useful vocabulary!
Whenever I have your lecture I learn a lot. You are a really great teacher who knows how to make students learn what you want to teach. According to someone "A good teacher is a good actor" and you seem to me proving this by your gesture according to the situation. Thank you to do such a good work and to make the way of learning English easy peasy being our non-native speakers of this language.
Best of the best teachers on internet. I download all your videos and watch them whenever I have time. They are a treasure for me. Thanks gentleman.

I have been watching you for the past couple of days then I realized all the teachers taught me were trash , you know what non native speakers are looking forward to learning, sarcastically i found myself improving while sitting at home without having to plan a trip to london . Mr smart londoner
Best ever teacher I ever met!! Bravo and thank you!!!
The way you teach and explain native words....it seems real easy peasy ... you have a great knack in picking the real issues related to English language learners🤘✌️
Everything you teach is enriching. Thanks a greal deal for the good job.
I am impressed and enchanted by your way of teaching. You are an excellent teacher . I appreciate your effort ,sir!Great job!I am grateful for you,for your amazing, educative and comprehensive lessons. You are second to none!

Many thanks for this amazing video, dear teacher. It's no less important and captivating than the previous ones. Love it 😍
Seriously, you are a great help for us people who work hard to improve our English skills. Thank you very much, I truly appreciate your effective and close style. This is so valuable even if I am still mistified by the hyphenation issue...
I have to admit I'm a little leery of a teacher who introduces his lesson with the immortal words, "Okey dokey everybody!" But things got better! There's nothing namby pamby about this presentation ... anyone who can come up with 41 redupicative words is a super genius! In Australia we also say "namby pamby" to mean something done in an ineffectual or weak way and "willy nilly" which means wildly, randomly... similar to your higgledy piggedy.
I hadn‘t realized just how many of these words there were in English. Thank you. I will start to teach my students some.
The last a few second is Fantastic.😎👍
All your videos have been of great help and benefit to me and my students. I congratulate you on your success and wish you all the best for your future. You're doing such a great job. (João / a teacher of English from Brazil )
Superb Sir, I adore the way you deliver the lesson.. fascinating!
Brillant, as usual ! Merci beaucoup !
Quite a wonderful way of explaining how to build vocabulary fast. I have been following your videos n have become a fan of yours. You are doing a noble job in the field of education in English language. Your contribution in the area is immense particularly for non-English countries. Respects from India. 🙏🙏

Reduplications are great. However, there's a problem we English students have to work on. We can't use these words willy-nilly. Willy-nilly here is an adverb. Arty-farty is an adjective, hush hush is used as a verb in the imperative as well as an adjective, knick-knacks as a plural noun and riff-raff as a singular noun. So we have to be all ears. Thank you for the great lesson, Gideon.
I have started developing interest in English Language for the way you show how rich is it. Bundle of Thanks
Thank you for your artistic skills which, I believe, help me to improve my feel of the language!
Such a great outro! Thanks for today's lesson.

Not bad. Mum's best friend is an English teacher. By chance we share this compassion.
Is silly billy a reduplicative one too? Awesome teaching. Thank you!

I learned English in Canada, worked there and in the States and Australia, and had no major problems tal King to anyone there. However, to me in sound much nicer your British English. I am Spanish, from Madrid, and now I enjoy refreshing my poor English with your (to me) perfect lessons

I didn't have words to express 'cultureta' (arty farty) and 'flaite' (riff raff) in English. Amé este video! Gracias!

Thanks for that Gideon! In Australia we also say "namby pamby" to mean something done in an ineffectual or weak way and "willy nilly" which means wildly, randomly... similar to your higgledy piggedy. Another popular example of reduplication is playing the "blame game" which means pointing the finger at someone or something (rather than finding a constructive solution.
I actually learned some new words here, thanks!
Great teaching, as usual!

Thx for super duper video on this material. I have a question here. They all sound so informal, may we use them in formal writing, or are they just for daily conversation only?
just AMAZING!!
"Hush hush" also means something is secret or not available to the general public...as in " the operations of Department x in the Minstry of defence are all very hush-hush".
Wonderful lesson! Thanks

Dear Grand Gedion I was arguing with fellow teachers about the passive for 'We started moving the earth away' and 'His architects had also started building Alexandria' s famous library' and I thought you'be the best to judge. Cheers 👍
@Meijimack
5 жыл бұрын
Okay, so the passive suppresses, or hides, the subject (the "doer.") So your examples become: The earth began (or had begun) to be moved away; and A's famous library had begun to be built.
Insightful
thanks so much
Thanks alot
