SAILING MILFORD HAVEN TO WHITEHAVEN

Episode 19
The Home Run - Sailing SV Compromise
A'up you handsome crew
(A'up ~ Hello or Hi in Yorkshire, UK)
Q: The Home Run why "The Home Run"?
A: Because it's the final leg of our journey to bring the boat to our new homeport of Whitehaven Marina all the way around the South and West UK from Lymington Yacht Haven.
After spending 3 nights in Milford Haven waiting for the winds to turn in our favour, we finally get to set off home and we experience some amazing sights on the 25hr sail back. Both South and North Wales offer spectacular sights from the ocean. Passing the busy shipping channel of Holyhead we had to dodge a couple of huge container ships before entering the Irish Sea.
The Irish Sea was a little rougher than we experienced in Cardigan Bay but nothing like we experienced from the Westerly Approaches near the Bristol Channel. Passing the Isle of Man we heard over the VHF of a kayaker over turning and the coastguard looking for somebody in the water, thankfully they found them safe and well.
We had to concentrate on our approach to Whitehaven because the winds picked up to almost 30kts and it was pitch black and very difficult to see the harbour walls before entering the seasick into the marina.
Hannah & Kyle drove 3hrs North to meet us and I cannot tell you how nice it was to see them.
You also hear from Hannah & Kyle and see what it was like for them whilst me and Liam was at sea.
We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and subscribers we have even though we haven't had a boat, hope you have really enjoyed our journey of us learning to sail and searching for a boat. We have been super excited to have brought you along with us and to be honest if it wasn't for some of the supportive comments we have had, we could given up, for this we thank you so much.
Hope you enjoy our videos even more now we have our boat.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank Shaun & Barry who volunteered to help bring our new boat home, you guys were amazing!
Cheers

Sailing SV Compromise No, I’ve just checked. I think it might be at your settings. The bell has a line through it but, is faint, as though it’s been suppressed. It’s nothing to do with Kids content, is it? I’m afraid I don’t know much about the ‘behind the scenes’ working, of YT.

I’ve had a look and tried googling but can’t seem to find any answers 🥴 It does say if you are pressing the bell icon on a tablet or mobile you need to have your notifications on for KZread. Sorry Keith that’s the only info I can find.

Nice clips.... interesting family affair and perhaps some DIY....but the sound is awful and there are way too much selfies! Please do most of the talking over the B-Roll (places, sails, water, sunsets, waves, fish) not with the selfies! Later add the voice overs in editing if you have to! A 10 minute clip should not have more than 2 minutes of talking heads and as little fill music as possible! The background music score should ALWAYS be at least 3db below the voice tracks, because music, especially rock or beat clips, is always louder on playback than voice. I subscribed anyways because you are a fun family with lots of lovely dreams! Cheers & Godspeed

André Bériault Thanks for the feedback, we are new to filming and editing hence the quality. Like everything else we are and will get better. Our videos moving forward will be better, the audio in our latest episode is way better because we bought a mic and better camera. The video you've watched here, is filmed on an iPhone 7plus. Thanks for watching and taking the time to give your feedback.
