It's a magical place, couldn't believe the red deer just casually wall my past. Hehe yeh a Piper would've been amazing, we didn't see any whilst up in Scotland, Kyle was desperate to see a Piper.

We will give you a call and let you know what we have found as pro's and cons? Things we would do differently if we did it again. You didn't put #WD40 in your list o hashtags!!! Cor! 60 years sailing and I've been carrying WD40 all that time. You never stop learning ;-) I never put to sea without WD40 and a good electronic contact cleaner spray. I've recently discovered Home Depot's clear outdoor weather proof adhesive tape. Very good as a quick temporary fix for those little drip leaks that appear from time to time.

We actually carry WD40 and contact cleaner onboard. There was a forum and most of the members slated somebody for having WD40 on their boat. We'll always carry it, its got lots of uses. We also carry the clear weatherproof tape, we used it recently to repair a hole in the spray hood plastic glass.

Great video team. Interested to know how much vaguely running costs are... perhaps later you could do a video on this ? In a few years plan to buy a boat too (grew up yachting into my teens ) Ps keep up the use of charts / log/dead reconing . It's good practice for when electronics stop working !

Thanks Thomas, yes we'll do a video sharing the running costs. Paper charts is something I feel is really important for Hannah and the boys to be able to understand, electronics are great but it's always good to have a back up. Thanks for watching Gav

IMO, WD-40 is worthless as a lubricant, penetrant, or rust preventative. It can dissolve some adhesive residue and clean some other things. It was developed to prevent the US Army Redstone missile from sticking in its silo. Condensation would form and cause corrosion inhibiting launch. WD stands for water displacement and that's what it did for the missile's skin. Your boat displaces water so you don't need WD-40. There are plastic restorers which clear up haze on plastic, remove scratches, and reduce fogging. Probably cheaper in an auto parts store than a marine store.

Isn't it silly, kids aren't allowed to buy earosol cans in most places just incase they decide to inhale it to get high. I mean how crazy! I'm not surprised Scotland is on your list, it's a magical part of the world. Anyway hope your getting on ok? 👍🏼
