OMG my family used to live in this area when I was a kid. We went grocery shopping and got our stomachs filled at this market. Our go-to dishes were nem nướng, canh bún, bún riêu, bánh bèo and bánh canh. The nem nướng lady and her husband probably already passed, but memories of her food and one-of-a-kind dipping sauce live on. This video reminds me so much of the good old days. Will definitely visit this market on my next vietnam trip. Thanks Max!

Nem Nuong beef and pork version are both awesome when grilled. That lady is a sweetheart and she's so generous. Glad you were able to showcase her, Max👍. The fatty catfish and fried pork/water spinach was also epic.

I love Nem Nuong Cuon with Vietnamese fresh herbs! And you can eat Rau Diep Ca and Mam Nem too! Wow! My kids can’t eat Mam Nem! Everything is getting so expensive but they still charged very little!!! Max, as always I really enjoyed watching your videos!

I appreciate how you spend the time to get to know the owners and tell their back stories and how they put in all their heart into their recipes/businesses. The banh hoi looks amazing! I cannot believe it's less than $2 for all that fresh deliciousness! I think I can do that flavored shrimp paste better than the one for bun dau mam tom. The fact you love mam tom and fish mint...yep, true Vietnamese right there. I cannot do the fish mint...blech!...and can only due the timid person's version of shrimp paste.
