@Max 1) “we’re family, take a bite and switch”, then proceeds to take bite from opposite end lol. 2) being 1st gen VN in USA, when the vendors offer the meal gratis, it’s borderline offensive to say, “I’m rich and want to support ‘poor’ ppl”. Think better approach is “consider a tithe to Buddha” or pay forward to next person in line, or less fortunate patron.
@memewithinameme35

there you go "1st Gen VN in USA" the local ppl tell him to do this because they know he has some money to spare and help when ppls pride get in the way.
@greglist2991

@@memewithinameme35 wtf you talking about? I’m talking about paying for his meal vs gratis? Obvi Max is in better situation travel world shooting food YT vs family selling $1 Banh mi from 5am-8pm 7days/week. But when VN ppl offer you something for free, it’s from the heart and they really believe(maybe Buddhist culture) yin-yang. Where the “publicity of his YT” will more than pay for how much he ate. But obvi Max feels bad cuz obvi he can afford to pay. So rather “I’m rich and want to support poor ppl” approach, take “the donate to charity or pay forward approach”.

Dang! Max’s Vietnamese is tremendously improved in both complete sentences, conversations and accent. Greatly improved! … Been watching your channel since you first arrived to Sàigon a few years ago with a few words of Vietnamese whom most people wouldn’t understand…Give it a another year and you will catch up with Chris in fluent Vietnamese. Keep up the great work bro! Support from neighboring Nashville Tennessee. Go Razorbacks, Volunteers and SEC 🏈

Your Vietnamese speaking skill is getting so much better! Im super impressed! And to see you learn and talk like this just 2 to 3 years living there is amazing. Whereas, you have folks living there for 5 to 10 years that barely can speak any Vietnamese, you made an effort to learn the language and fully immersed yourself in to the language, food, and culture. Hats off to you!
Your tones are on point! I've never heard a Westerner speak Vietnamese so clearly.

Pate used to be just duck liver by the French however, times change and they started doing pork liver and then adding minced pork and pork fat. As long as it is well seasoned with pepper etc, it should be delish! Baking it in the oven after it has been steamed gives it more colour, especially if the pate hasn't been pounded. We can tell you love pate. The French may have brought over their baguettes and pate but the Vietnamese invented the pork roll banh mi thit! ❤

Taurus, I am one of the people left VN since 1975, we appreciate the American for being there when we needed the most. War is always nasty...especially Civil War. And it were not American fault. So, why not accepting American?
@doodahgurlie
Жыл бұрын
@@hangdong6772 Sorry, but Americans are not blameless if they inserted themselves in a "civil war" as you stated. Many millions of Viet people died or or have lasting health issues because of the war. Agent orange was dropped on the land which affects generations of the people and poisons the land/water/plants/foods. More bombs dropped than in WWII, wiping out people, land, historically significant sites (there should be reparations made by the US to restore/rebuild those historical artifacts in some way). Those are not blameless nor are they no-fault acts. And if the situation was reversed, no way Americans will be as forgiving as Vietnamese people have been.

@@haphamhong8706 The southern overseas Vietnamese are still bitter over the war and are typically the ones sitting behind their keyboards making negative or provocative comments. They hate to see Vietnamese rise from the ashes despite all the obstacles placed in her way. They forget it's a country that's had to defend itself from invaders and such throughout history and was never conquered; one of the few to go up against the Mongols whom are known to be fierce in battle. It's a history to be proud of, not to be belittled at every turn by overseas Viets.
