Safe Operating Envelope for Lithium Ion Battery Systems

Ғылым және технология

How does a battery pack report the available maximum charge and discharge currents to a system? The Safe Operating Envelope is a BMS calculation developed by Stafl Systems. In this video, Erik Stafl from Stafl Systems explains how this calculation works and what it means when calculating the capability of a battery pack.
Topics Covered
Safe Operating Envelope
Discharge Cycles
Maximum Charge
Maximum Discharge
Battery Management System
The Safe Operating Envelope helps with fault avoidance and can increase the lifetime of the battery pack. This video references the State of Health calculation and it is recommended that viewers watch this video prior to beginning this video.

Do you really think this individual will make his company secrets available to DIY electronic enthusiasts and go out of market? At best expect a block diagram supported by graphs for reference

I rely on my ESC for cut-off voltage (3.0v per cell) and to "limit" maximum discharge, is there a potential problem with that? Currently using a low amp BMS with discharge bypass (for charging only). Thank you for the comprehensive videos.

What are the parameters of the cells/batteries you are using to derive the SOE (Safe Operating Environment)?

Nice one, I do have 2 different battery, 10 KVA Lifepo4 (DIY) and 9.6 KVA (VRLA, 4 X12 v X 200 ah) is it possible to parallel them? if yes, how to set the charging and discharging parameter to be safe?

It was not explained that the max and min perimeters of the safe envelope very's during the cycle and that it is not fixed perimeters, As a novice I don't understand why the perimeter does not stay the same
