    Great explanation. But here's some input for your explanation. BMS works on each series from the batteries. It can't control on each batteries on one parallel configurarion. So it's more relevant if you create the animation for your video on series connection instead of parallel connection

    Nice video, it was well put together. I have a question though, I want to get 10 Battery modules that consist of 12 cells in series for each module. my understandings are that a BMS is mainly for cells in series. so would I be able to get away with just 1 BMS for the entire 10 modules if i run them in series? Wouldnt that be equivilant to 120 cells in series? I would just need 1 BMS that can handle 120 cells in series instead of getting 10 individual BMS for each module?

  • @FoolishEngineer

    @FoolishEngineer

    3 жыл бұрын

    if you use one BMS for 10 modules then BMS will assume it as just one cell. Ideally, BMS should be connected for all cells.

    Does the Distributed BMS topology allow for safer and longer operation of unbalanced cells? The use case is as such: if each BMS manages the health along with the voltage & current output for each battery, then the "shared voltage buss" will present a "sum" voltage of all the various voltages on that master buss [that variation should not be substantial]. This allows for the safe and practical repurposing of used batteries. How would you do this?

    sir what happen if i use 12.6 full charge battery bank but my charger is only 12 volts. i use 10amp bms, 3 pcs 18650 battery in series =12.6v. the battery will be always on charging state, right? because it cannot reach 12.6v full charge so the bms will not cut the charging because the charger is only 12volts. what will happen to battery?

    i dont use a bsm for my trolling motor i just monitor it with a cell checker.. its 100ah but i only use like 30ah to 40ah after fishing for about 4 hours is what i do the most...then i balance charge it..easy to manage but if im going to have a other type of home use i would use a bsm because i dont have to worry about it and check it. i let the bms do the work.. with trolling motor i can see the cells voltage and manage my power use..im using grade a cells 4s. im using close to half the capacity of my battery most all the time when i fish.. iwas thinking of a 200ah size but it will be useless as i dont even use up all my 100ah battery

    actually about BMS it's not efficien for example 10P 8S and using only 1 BMS Only, my thought was about faulty change was high how about use BMS every 1 pack of BMS that I mean 8S and 1P of battery that has 1 BMS so 8S and 10P has 10 BMS on it for more acurate discharge and charge reading parameter

    All modern Battery systems need a BMS depending on the size of appliance. The batteries are dumb chips, they cannot communicate or do not know when to charge or discharge. Some type of Battery management is required to indicate the Charge level, to control charge and discharge.
