That was the most AWESOME mini-mob opera EVER!!! When that Policia entered I guessed that he might just be in on the fun, but loved the expressions on the kids faces as they waited with baited breath to hear what he was going to say.

Absolutely wonderful for the children. This should happen at all schools to help them appreciate Opera and Classical music. The world needs this!

That was so cute! I loved it when that policeman came in. Just seeing the kids waiting for what would happen and then hearing them burst into laughter as he started singing made it all worth it.

The reaction and look on these children's faces is priceless!

Wonderful way to introduce fine art music to children! Beats rap music any day!

Bravo. Loved the little boy applauding at the end, the sheer joy on his little face was amazing.

That one girls cherubic face...her life changed right there.....she either sings likewise now...or is an avid follower of Opera! Just that look says it all. Any man in her life...will better appreciate the Fine Arts! If not...he's dinner...lol! Just that look of sheer awe and astonishment spread across her face,made MY DAY! God bless all!

The children showed a feeling of mild astonishment by the unexpected impromptu singers. Awesome! Great idea to introduce opera to youngsters. Thanks for sharing.

This needs to be done more often, all over the world. :) Kids need to be exposed to different kinds of music, from all genres. It's a great way to figure out if they will make, sing or just enjoy music. I come from a home where you listened to almost all genres of music. I must say that opera and classical music still have the biggest places in my heart.

I fail to see how a beautiful performance for open minded children can devolve into negativity like some of the comments posted here. Opera is timeless and exposure to it while young can lead to a lifetime of appreciation. British or American, we share common values. there's value in ALL music genre's. Maybe I have not scrolled down far enough but I don't see any of that! Maybe I should just stop now before I get bummed out by others negativity!!! How could anyone find anything negative about this? Good clean fun and a special uplifting gift for those children!!! Some folks just gotta hate, I suppose........

Of course some of the kids were holding their ears!! In a small space like the lunch room, that was really loud!! I used to conduct opera professionally, but in this sized room I, too, might have covered my ears. Those singers, especially the big tenor, have serious power.

Just been sent this link. Really enjoyed the mini flash-mob. Brilliant concept and the children show the greatest reactions. I wonder how many went home and 'sang' to their parents. Singing of any kind is so uplifting and it was lovely to see so many happy faces. Made my day.

This was priceless! Highly creative brilliant idea - this is better than any advertising PR dollar you could possibly spend by springing this impromptu operetta fun 'swarming' on the kids during lunch-hour. I have no doubt this is one which shall come to mind for years to come in the minds of these children! ...who knows...maybe some will strat listening more to classical music or even sing it themselves in the future. . . The policeman showing up was a good one.... - no doubt all the kids felt safe but the surprise was on them when he started to sing as well. . . BRAVO! I just loved it! Pass the parmiggiano, I am listening to this once more!

And while I agree with you on that, part of the solution would be for the parents themselves (of all socioeconomic students) to expose them to culture, especially at an early age. One doesn't have to be rich to listen to these and other wondrous forms of music, performing arts, etc.
