FULL BROADCAST P1: Blind girl Lucy, with Neurodiversity stuns crowd with Chopin piano performance!

Музыка

13 year old blind girl Lucy, with Neurodiversity stuns crowd with Chopin piano performance!
Lucy performs: Opus 9 Number 1 by Chopin.
Claudia Winkleman, Mika and Lang Lang have been great as hosts and judges, but it's the contestants who shine in this heartfelt competition.
Made by Love Productions, the firm behind The Great British Bake Off, the series invited amateur players of all ages to perform on “street pianos” in Glasgow Central, London St Pancras, Leeds and Birmingham stations.
Lucy, 13, from West Yorkshire is neurodivergent and blind. She had played Chopin in the Leeds heat and chose Debussy for the final -a harder piece, thought Lang Lang.
Viewers watched Sean, Lucy, Jay (St Pancras winner), and Danny (Birmingham) having mentoring sessions with the judges.
Lucy was second on stage, accompanied by her teacher, Daniel. Waiting backstage was her mum and the three lads who by now had assumed full big brother status.
As she walked to the piano, Lucy asked for Sean and the others, and her mum. It was her way of reassuring herself, part of a pre-performance ritual. Seated at the piano she was at home, perfectly relaxed. A stirring three minutes later, Lang Lang was leading the audience in a standing ovation. Number of dry eyes in the house? Zero.
But it soon proved to be something different. There was the soaring level of genuine talent on display, enough to stop commuters in their tracks. Add to this Winkleman’s way of putting people at their ease, and Channel 4 was on its way to a hit, with audiences of close to two million on the night.
The judges have played their part too. If a panellist on Britain’s Got Talent panel says you are brilliant it’s nice but hardly the first time they’ve doled out the compliment. If Lang Lang calls you a genius, as he did with Lucy, it matters.
There was one last surprise for the finalists - a piano each, delivered to their homes!

I'm a concert violinist. I cried when I saw Lucy's hands over her teacher's. I have twin boys aged 12, one is autistic. Eric is incredibly poetic in his math, engineering, humour, chess and musical imagination. I can relate to Lucy and her mother.

I love Lucy. Apart from her piano playing, she is so cute! I believe recognition needs to be given to her teacher, Daniel Bath, who has taught so many other beautiful and gifted "special needs" children and young adults. Bravo Daniel Bath!

I can relate all this too. As a teacher myself we try to give each kid an opportunity to learn no matter what kind of background they have. I have a couple with ADHD and one with Down Syndrome and not long ago another with Global Development Delay. Have been following Lucy's meteoric rise ever since the first season was aired. And it is nothing short of remarkable. And the new series just got better.

I never understood how people could look at someone like Lucy and say "she has a disability", she is obviously so much more advanced than we are so much so that we can't even begin to understand Lucy bc she is so far above us. She brings a level of art and beauty to a an ugly hate filled world and we think she is "disabled", on the contrary we are the disabled ones but we are blessed bc she is here bringing us music and she is totally disconnected from the hateful and ugly world around her.

Being blind can actually be an advantage with music, Ray Charles is a prime example of that. Now being def would be make it quite difficult but you can still compose in that condition as Beethoven proved.

When they see others like Lucy, play playing something so beautiful. I am beside myself when I heard her play Piano. I was shocked. Shocked was not disappointed. I was not home when I was watching this and I gave her the biggest applause ever. God bless her and her parents. They did a good job. This shows an example for other people. That you can do what you can do. Never forget who you are, where you come from. And and you are always amazing to others. Always remember to keep your head above the water. And improve yourself on everything that you do in this world.People will never.I get you sincerely yours a man

  • @SonyStudioPro

    @SonyStudioPro

    Жыл бұрын

No thats not the case. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is associated with differences in communication, learning, and behavior, though it can look different from person to person. People with ASD may have a wide range of strengths, abilities, needs, and challenges. For example, some autistic people are able to communicate verbally, have a normal or above average IQ, and live independently. Others might not be able to communicate their needs or feelings, may struggle with impairing and harmful behaviors that impact their safety and well-being, and may be dependent on support in all areas of their life. Additionally, for some people with autism, differences may not cause any suffering to the person themself. Instead, the suffering may result from the barriers imposed by societal norms, causing social exclusion and inequity. Medical evaluation and treatment is important for individuals with ASD. For example, establishing a formal diagnosis may enable access to social and medical services if needed. A diagnostic explanation may help the individual or their family understand their differences better and enable community connections. Additionally, neurodevelopmental conditions may also be associated with other health issues that require extra monitoring or treatment. It is important that people who need and desire behavioral supports or interventions to promote communication, social, academic, and daily living skills have access to those services in order to maximize their quality of life and developmental potential. However, approaches to interventions cannot be one-size-fits-all, as all individuals will have different goals, desires, and needs. I hope this explanation was helpful for you.
