Dang it, Sabaton has to be the only band that will both give me goosebumps just about every time and also make me cry.

Sabaton should remake this song and try to do a fundraiser tie in with The Wounded Warrior Project or any type of Veteran Anti Suicide group . I could very easily see this being about the last moments of a dying abandoned veteran and just thinking of a updated version of this gem with that theme would make this song more impactful.

To my mind it's one of the most beautiful Sabaton songs. I hope to see it live one day.

I saw it live in 2012, one of the most epic experiences as it was my favourite songs already back then. And to the best of my knowledge they hadn't really played it live before either. The whole stadium whipped out their phones and started waving their lights, it was magical.

Giving Sabaton's usual source material for their songs, it's easy to imagine this song is about a tormented soldier who is nearing the end of his life. But honestly, this song could also apply to any man who has lived a life that maybe he felt was inadequate, or full of too much strife to really have been enjoyed or find meaning in. It may simply be a song about the former, yes. But it could also tell the age old story of man's search for meaning in this fleeting thing called life. It is definitely one of those songs that fills your heart with grief, but it is so beautiful that you find yourself listening to it on repeat. Kinda like Sabaton's cover of 1916. If you're out there struggling, I feel you brother.

I know for sure which song is being played at my funeral now. and if none of my relatives and friends are metal enough to sing along, bro I'm getting up and walking out

I'm a sucker for contrast in music. Whether with two different voices "competing" with eachother (I'm sure there is an actual term for this but I don't know it) or quiet turning into loud like in this song. No idea why, but I love it.

I never liked how the song starts off quiet because I'd be listening to it on public transport, turn up the volume, then SUDDENLY DRUMS and I flinch and yank off my headphones Aside from that, I really, really love the sadness in the song's undertones. It's my favourite from Metalizer

It’s the curse of becoming an arena headliner, you’ve got to play the stuff that the biggest and often newest % of fans know. I do miss the early days when Sabaton was a rising band and played the non military material as a lot of it is amazing stuff

Piscator. Was a well known german youtuber who uploaded Sabaton lyric vidoes as well as other bands but had stopped making vidoes , despite Sabaton releasing new music. He hasn't uploaded to his youtube channel for just over 3 years , hope he is okay :(
