Saab 9-3 9-5 1.9 TID 150 EGR Removal and Cleaning Z19DTH Vauxhall Astra Vectra CDTI Opel

Комедия

How to remove the EGR on the Saab 1.9 TID 150 Engine. Vauxhall CDTI. Z19DTH.
Firstly remove the engine cover by pulling it straight up.
Loosen the jubilee clips on the boost pipe attached to the EGR.
Look for 3 5mm Hex bolts holding the EGR in position.
Disconnect the wiring.
To remove the actuator remove the 2 13mm bolts from the top which will disconnect the pipe below.
Then remove 2 10mm bolts from the rear of the actuator.
Then remove the nuts holding the engine cover mount in place then you can remove the 10mm bolts.
Remove the wiring to the actuator.

I have the same car with the same engine and just give you a Big up from France ! Thank you to share your knowledge !

I had a significant loss of power from standing up to about 2500 revs and even then it still had reduced power after that, with plenty of smoke being emitted on start up and when changing gears. Cleaning this has now given full power back and 95% of the smoke has gone away. I really have to push the engine to get it to smoke and even then its almost unnoticeable I'll check the injectors next on my 15 year old car. After that it goes into the garage, but this has saved me a few quid and removed one problem Many thanks

you should just block the egr and tune the car, i dont know if you have a car inspection where you live and they check the exhaust value. The dpf also gets clogged anoying as hell so i removed it and put it back on when im about to go for the yearly car inspection.

@@Patrioten99 Indeed I get checked. My current Saab is a taxi and the government inspection is very thorough. So its a no-go for me sadly as they'd spot that mod and they'd probably detect the unburnt fuel from the exhaust emissions I stage 1 tuned my previous Saab taxi, which had a tuning and detuning kit, so I always detuned it prior to them testing it, just in case when they did the road test they pushed the accelerator slightly too much and broke their necks (8 But thankfully my current car is the last Saab production year that didn't have a DPF fitted as standard, so I don't have to worry about that issue

This is easily the best You Tube video on the subject. I have just bought a 2010 Sportwagon with the 150hp version of the Tid standard mapping and 150k on the clock. The EML was not lit but even though the car had been very well serviced all its life the EGR hadn't been cleaned. On stripping using your exact method I found it completely clogged and I then used your second video to clean everything before reinstalling with new gaskets. There was nothing wrong with the old gaskets but for the sake of £5 it made no sense to reuse them. The ELM did light up on first start up and I found I had not pushed one of the yellow plastic clips back fully on the electrical connectors. With that sorted the ELM went out on the third restart and all is well. Thanks for a great video.

so the thing he called the actuator is the EGR valve, the thing he called the EGR is the THROTTLE BODY. just so your not miss informed. The EGR comes off without touching anything else :D

You do not have to remove the intake pipe and the throttle body the egr valve will come straight of without removing them.

If I wanted to spray egr cleaner into that engine you have there, where would be the best place to do it? Cheers

Personally I don’t think spraying EGR cleaner in there will do anything, the carbon deposits turn into sludge and the only way to remove them is physically scraping them off.

Should that big turbo pipe have oil in it ..i just swapped out a loose jubillee clip and a fair bit of oil is visible on the underside where it has condensed and pooled.. maybe its normal

  • @IAMASPANNER

    @IAMASPANNER

    7 ай бұрын

A small amount is normal as some oils gets past the turbo but a lot of oil can be an issue suggesting the turbo will fail and if you’re unlucky the engine may “runaway” on oil which I’ve seen happen twice.

blank it off or your inlet manifold will be full of thick black oily sooty carbon deposits.
