S2EP15- How to Remove Semi floating Rear axle and replace wheel bearing, FJ40, BJ40, FJ45
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Semi floating axle bearing removal and replacement, the bearing where not playing nice so I took them on with a grinder and a welder to remove them both! Worked perfectly, but if you try this at home please take your time and take care not to cut the axle or welding into the axle tube.

This made me realise how much easier a full floating hub is to rebuild.

Yep you're spot on, much easier to re-build a full floating hub!
You are the best 👌
Thats such a good trick, I will need to try that....
I learnt something today! Thanks Jase!

You are very welcome.
For those retaining bolts in the hubs - if they aren’t playing ball a hammer driven impact would be my go too (especially if you have to cut your own screwdriver slot). I use it on motorbike clutch covers and brake reservoir caps that have a habit of rusting in.

Yep sure is, we have had some -5 mornings, lots of thick fog and frost and a couple of snow days.
Many greetings from Germany. A question? Do you also speak German?

I use 80W-90, Oh no I have given away some of part 2. 😂
I used my old bearing to put the new bearing in. Big mistake. I couldn’t get it out. I had to pull both bearings and start over. Cost me another bearing. Would be fine, but don’t pound in in all the way where the seal seats…. You won’t be able to get it out!

I don’t recall Jack mentioning making a cut in the old Bearing when using this way. That might have been helpful information
