Hey Steve-O, we partied in New Paltz, NY probably 20 years ago during your Jack Ass filming. You thought you knew me, asked where I'm from and I told you San Clemente, CA. We played pool and then you took the stage in the bar by doing pool stick tricks. Haha happy to see you back on the screen and in popularity again. For a while, I wondered what happened to you. Cheers!

@@ManOfAttitudeLP1998 you know Rob Dyrdek used his money that he made from skating and his tv rob & big to create SLS which is now regarded as the 2nd biggest skate contest apart from x games. If you win at SLS it's also now a qualifier for the olympics team along with x games and dew tour. Rob put in so much work and has contributed tonnes to skating. Even though I don't really like some of his shows he's putting the money back into the skate community. I think the main names you will recognize in skating is tony hawk, rodney mullen, ryan sheckler, nyjah huston, rob dyrdek, bam margera and p-rod. All have contributed a lot to skating...then even guys like eric koston founder of the berrics, bob burnquist and danny way, danny way has a lot of world records for skating like his great wall of china jump.

Ryan is why I picked up a skateboard at 27. I’m 40 now. Wild. Anyhow, I was all about MTV and I saw his show, but that’s what got me in the local shop. I had a janky setup, and I got his deck as my first pro along with his Sheckler 1 Etnies. I had all his stuff. I had gotten sober in 2006, and I too was sober 2 years thanks to my own will and skateboarding. I got to this point I was like yeah I bet I could social drink. Though I did accomplish staying sober till night, instead of drinking the day etc, it turned back to that and I sold all my Sheck decks. Had a wall man. I fell in a deep hole. Never got to go to Tampa Am with friends to meet him. Still a dream to do so. I got sober again 2016, and I’m now 4 years and 2 months sober at 40. Now, I’m not badass skater. I just roll, I can rollin, pump a half pipe, just have fun. COVID been hard. I hate to hear Ry is fighting alcohol too, but it makes me feel better, knowing this guy that matters so much to me, is fighting and being successful like me too. I hope one day I can get my picture with you man, sign my deck and say thanks. I don’t have my old crew anymore, but I’ll get there next one sober. Thanks for everything!

Wow, it's hard to believe Ryan is still only 30. I remember him from the THPS games, & never really heard from him since. Glad to see "The Life" didn't destroy another young talent & awesome to hear that Ryan is giving back where he can. Solid Show, Steve-O🤙

Ryan is truly My favorite skateboarder and human beings Him and His family are incredibly kind, cool, and personable folks. I personally was so inspired by Ryan at 13 when I was 14 during the X game win. So much so that after getting into skateboarding, I moved to California. I'm happy to say I'm a volunteer for the Sheckler Foundation. And the positive impact his foundation provides is incredible. He's a real one.

15 months sober and he nails the obsession part. I firmly think you can be a full blown alcoholic even if you only drink once a week. If you can't stop thinking about drinking when you're not you may have a problem. Didn't even know he was an alcoholic. Good shit!

Truth, if that once a week/ month is a heavy binge w blackouts, fights and arrests, it's easily worse than a couple a day to relax.

Good to see comment, yea kory and others here i think what was real traditional values about abstaining from Alcohol like for example in Muslims religion islam there is a totally abstaining from alcohol rule, I think it make good sense to protect the general overall community of people, to protect masses from the really big harm it become from some of too many of drinkers , even also for bible & Torah new and old testament belief according to that alcohol is not a good thing this part of belief / or traditional values if you will use this term I think make very good sense for best for humans beings, even tho sadly it is something that most people in our time here in west have left totally and is too common and engrained here in the west even tho it is much more harm and big danger, problems related to it than good commung from it even tho some may say I only drink very little some start like that and sudeebyly eith out realising they get addicted also this about one time a week drinking like those in weekend have also harm so both can be potential danger. I think different rules values like this point to theese tesditional values oberiginal belief from creator God for what i good for humans and similarity shows all came for message belief in one creator and worship him alone with out worshiping others (monotheism) and that oberiginally like theese religions where sent by same God creator like moses jewism, christianity and islam, all belief in one god in one creator of universe, just later first teo example how changed rules like about alcohol and other aspect about belief and about rules of life values how to life believe just in islam this is something that still are oberiginal and same like what was ment oberiginally in first teo messages that later was changed so last message for mankind I think is worth to take a look on for many good things for life and for herafter after life if accepting believing having in one life. www.onereason.org/ www.manyprofetsonemessage.com

I really want to work with Ryan on the projects for communities that need inspiration.. I need inspiration these days and hearing him talk about his life around 15-19 years old.. that literally was me. I was a very competitive and skilled skater and rode hard for my sponsors. Life happened and nearly 20 years later my life has spun in a very hard direction. I'm sober (and have been for 7 years now) but my life lacks meaning. I want to give back and make a good living in the process. I just want to take care of my family, we are all in a bad spot right now. Much love to you all, I miss the freedom of being on a skateboard and skating transition. The skating industry will never die with people like Steve O and Sheckler around. These guys are truly inspiring and a treasure amongst the titans in the industry. I need this in my life again, I truly believe it could save my life.

for him to skate at the level he does and the precision he does, i can see why he has good intuition. His ability to see little details in a sort of slow motion likely plays a big part in why he is so good.
