Ryan Hughes Final Motocross Race, 125 Dream Race - VLOG #3

Спорт

Ryan Hughes’s final race, the 125 Dream Race crash turned into a nightmare. Ryno suffered a broken neck when racing an old 2 stroke Honda CR motorcycle which landed on his head. The 2-Stroke only Washougal 125 Dream Race brought up many challenges including several bike mechanicals. Ryan rode the 40+ 125 class and the 125 Marty Smith Vintage race.
Ryan Hughes has since recovered from the broken neck but was left with some muscle imbalances/paralysis in his arms. He can still be found coaching around Southern California and elsewhere via The Ryno Institute www.therynoinstitute.com
Ryan Hughes 125 Dream Race Results:
Race 1: 125 40+ Moto 1 - DNF
Race 3: 125 40+ LCQ - Moto Win
Race 4: 125 40+ Main Event - Moto Win
Race 2: 125 Marty Smith Moto 1 - Fouled plug, Last place
Race 5: 125 Marty Smith Moto 2 - Broken Neck
Check out my other 2021 125 Dream Race VLOGs from the beautiful Washougal Motocross Park.

Some of the audio got messed up on exporting and uploading. After 3 attempts (2 days. 7gb upload) of trying to get this online with good audio, I gave up. Sorry.

I was blessed back in 1996 to spend a few days in Mexico with Ryan and a insane group of guys. One of the best trips of my life. Super cool dude. I'm stoked to see him still out and about doing what he loves. The older we get we start appreciating life more, killer video bro. Thanks

Thank you Ryno for sharing the real emotion that day! It's important for men to see real emotion and tears from a man of such grit, determination and strength. It's obvious you're a man of great emotion whether it be in racing or life, and that is something men need to embrace more of...showing emotion and caring about things. Great job Ryno, happy for your recovery.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know it's been a blast watching you ride and going through old emails and moto mags of your racing progress. I've ridden 125 cr Hondas ever since they made the Elsinore. You don't know me and that's the beauty of it... you're still family my brother. I'm an old entertainment roadie and know how to stay grey and out da way. Get well! In similar situation. Neck injury this summer and things get scary. Lost a riding buddy this year due to broken neck, RIP. Other riding buddy blew both ankles, he's done. It is SO hard to quit but none of us want to live with disabilities or chronic pain. I'm just trying to figure out what kind of riding I can due to limit risk. Trail, Enduro, street... but I miss the jumps!! Depressing but we gotta focus on what we can do with a good body. Have fun, worship a good body!

I know this isnt your channel but...... Hey Ryno. "BE HERE NOW" Ram Dass... .“The most dangerous risk of all: the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.” Alan Watts... You truly embody these quotes well my friend! Rest up buddy. Just focus on getting healthy I know you know the drill. But I also know it may be hard to take your time because of how well you have been doing lately and how amazing your channel is and how many fans you have. We are all family in this sport. It's more a way of life. But, we only want you to be well and 100% healthy so we can see you at your best yet and I know we'll see you even sooner than you think... keep on doing you brotha!

You're a Warrior the emotion is all a part of the racers life. I have a fusion too. Still riding and racing age class 60+ A. If we stop we die, life is meant to be lived to the fullest, not sitting in a rocker. I'll be praying for your speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear this happened... many prayers for you to recover and become stronger than before. All difficult experiences have the ability to wear us down or temper us. It all depends on how the lesson is observed. Keep tempering your soul... it will never die unless you allow it to. Stay true, man. Many prayers for your healing... praise the Lord!

Get better soon Ryno! About ten years ago 6 months before my little boy was born I was racing stadium and messed up a jump somehow. I ended up crashing bad and bounced off the ground then back down again. I ended up fracturing t3 through t9 and collapse my right long which really sucked at 1st cause you can’t breathe very good for a bit and you keep gasping for air. But like he said we pick something we like and some are dangerous and we go right back at it.
