Rusty German Bayonet Restoration. Artifact from the battlefield
Rusty german bayonet restoration. I found this old rusty bayonet in the forest on the battlefield. This is a World War I German Bucher bayonet. The bayonet was made in 1915. Nearby I found the identification tag of a German soldier. I decided to restore the rusty bayonet and ID tag. I removed the rust and preserved the metal. I hope you liked my restoration.

SATISFYING TO WATCH
Always find it strange to think these found items could have taken someones life... such beautiful things to find with a dark past. Great resoration!
*Hi mister beautiful restoration beautifully restored good job well done*
GOOD RESTORATION!
didn't think you'll be able to save this bayonet... great work!

Hello, what a good restoration job, on the bayonet and his identification badge of the German soldier. Is there any file or way to find out what happened to that soldier...? Greetings from Argentina.

Thank you! Unfortunately, it is impossible to find out what happened to the soldier...

@@ReXtorer I thought it could be known through the data on the identification plate, in the military archives of the German army, but well, I don't know if it will be that easy to find out. Thank you also for your response.
Great find and great job with the preservation!
Tough piece, greater restore. Especially like the soldiers ID Placard. Gone, but not forgotten . Through all your hard work.

This looks amazing nice work !! 👍👍
I would like to see you restoring a bayonet or something very beaten up and converting it to its out-from-the-factory state back in 1915. Nice job here again!

Another great example of your skills!!! That must have been quality steel to last that long under ground!!! It needed you to give it a second chance! Well done!!!
Good job
Respekt, coole Arbeit.
Well done. A lot of pitting on that one. Glad it doesn't have to be stuck in anybody.
Beatiful restoration 👏👍🗡️ Greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪👋

I'm glad you didn't overdo the work.

Dope AF results, @ReXtorer!
👍👍👏💪💪
I believe that abrasive blasting followed by dipping to a muriatic acid solution, would offer much better rust removal results!
Did you make the metal support piece and wooden scales?

I truly hope that you return the ID tags to German authorities. If not. Shame on you.

How and to which authorities? An identification tag without a soldier is of no interest to anyone. Now it's just a collector's item.

I help a search organization, so I know how it works. An identification tag without the remains of a soldier is meaningless. I found hundreds of identification tags in the trash. They were simply thrown away. Dozens of tags can be found at the headquarters of the regiment. Some tags were thrown away because the soldier was transferred to another unit and they were invalid.
