Restoration of an Old Rusty Rifle Bolt. WW1 Artifact Restoration

Ойын-сауық

WW1 rusty rifle bolt restoration. I found this old rusty rifle bolt in the woods on a WW1 battlefield. Bolt from a Mosin-Nagant rifle. Model of 1891. I decided to restore the bolt of the rifle. I removed the rust and preserved the old iron. This is not a gun restoration, just a part of an old rifle. I hope you liked my restoration. You can see how I found this artifact in this video: • Secrets Beneath the So...

Another treasure saved!!! This is a testament to the designer and metal quality of this rugged battle implement. Your skill at restoring is top notch as always! I think that bolt could be returned to service. The round it was designed for is quite stout and explains the process needed to make the bolt strong and safe. You did another great job!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I love your channel and work. The title of the video states, “1891 Year.” WWI ended in 1918. Just a typo you may wish to correct…

The bolt is from a Mosin Nagant rifle of 1891, hence the "1891 Year" reference.

@ccbphoto In 1930, the rifle was slightly changed. Then it became known as the 91/30. This was the rifle used by the Russians in WW2. Both were chambered for the 7.62x54r which is still being used by the Russian military in some weapons.
