400 Years Old Rusty Pocket Knife Restoration
Ойын-сауық
Broken rusty pocket knife Restoration. In this video I showed how to restore an old rusty broken pocket knife. This is a typical 17th century knife. This knife lay underground for 400 years! The blade of the knife was broken. I decided to restore this rusty knife. I made a new blade and new scales from bone. I hope you liked my restoration.

It is wonderful! You are not only restoring the object. You are restoring past lives and emotions!
Outstanding!!!! That knife is good for another 300 years!!!! Now everyone is going to want one!!!! Great job on that transformation!!! Another miracle from ReXtorer!!!
Man this takes me back as a young girl findin that straight razor in the crick & me & the our towns Furniture Guy restorin it .OMG we had so much fun he forged a new blade for it out of a old leaf spring . I took it home Mom was so proud of me for what I did next I gave it to him for Christmas . He made a glass box to display it on his mantle etched my name in the glass , dang that brought a tear to my eyes . RIP Darrel love ya
Great job! The blade looks correct for the age of the knife!
I like the fact that you using an old blade match the age.
Great job. I'd love to see one of these broken and battered blades re-forged into a new blade though.

me too; I mean, great job at building an old-looking knife, but he made a new blade, a new cover for the handle, so the only original part is the copper (?) handle.
Добра робота. Автору відмінно за намагання використовувати автентичні матеріали. Доречі, цей ніж кінця 18 - початку 19 століття.
The previous owner would be impressed with the excellent result.

that is a slipjoint so it is very unlikely to be 400 years old, it is old though but not that age, maybe 200 years old
It looks great and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!! I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
No way it’s 400yrs old

400 years, indeed ? Why not dating it from the battle of Hastings ?

Let me guess, your next restoration will be a butterfly knife carried by Montezuma. 🤦

If only that knife could talk, I would bet it would have some stories to tell. A most excellent restoration, I enjoyed watching the process, thanks for the video.

It would be nice if you gave us a little more proof that it's 400 years old. Regardless of the real age, you did a nice job.
Outstanding work, such a great restoration 👏👏

I'm usually critical (🙂) of making new parts in a restoration, but here the new blade turned out to be quite appropriate. The new decorative plates too ... 👍🏻.

maybe a little less) these knives were popular throughout the 17th century. Maybe this knife is 330 years old, maybe 430 years old. I can't know for sure, so I wrote 400. But 100% is 17th century). This is a razor knife.

I think you need to be able to prove that it is 400 years old... Where did you find it?... And who did the carbon dating?... What region was it found in?... Nobody in their right mind would take something so rare and mix metals... Which would destroy the value and proof of the original....maybe you should get actual professionals to help you with these projects... You know like an actual archeologist and a metallurgist and put that knife in an actual clean room...and definitely keep you away from it was that old you would not touch with your bare hands at all
@ReXtorer

This is a common knife from the 17th century. Nothing special. There are many such artifacts in Europe
you shouldnt change any little part of it, you had to just clean this, it is 400 years old historical knife, even you cant not any little nail, you just removed all the history and memories on it.. dislike.
I highly doubt a person of your skill level would be allowed to even touch a knife this old, let alone mess it up, no one would ever restore something this old beyond cleaning the dirt of it. I’m giving it 70 years at best.

@@Rozak-vl6ouhe's not wrong I wholeheartedly agree with him. It should be against the law to destroy something so old or something he at least claims to be over 400 years old to "restore it". If it was in fact over 400 years old he should have taken to an actual professional at a museum to have them look at it
@ShadowOfDeadRhodes21

I don't even think there is anybody so idiotic enough not to take something that old like that to a person who *professionally* deals in restoring stuff like this. I call bluff on that it's actually something it's over 400 years old.
