Thanks for making this project look so possible for non-woodworkers. My only woodworking experience is building a deck. Your video makes me feel like I can DO this! I have a nasty old builder-grade mirror that I took down (you know those rusty brown bits at the bottom...? Well I haven't been brave enough to destroy it to get rid of it. And I have an old deck to take down with weathered cedar boards. It's nasty on the deck, when the wasps come for nest building material, but it'll be fantastic on a rustic mirror frame! I think I can remake it better than the sum of its original parts. Just like you did. Thanks for inspiring and empowering me.

Another great way to add distress marks is a short piece of chain. I have a piece that's about a foot long that I welded some old nuts and bolts and other random pieces of metal on that really make some unique and random markings. Another great video! 👍🏻

+Braxton Wirthlin thanks Braxton! Yes, this is a super easy project and except for letting the stain and glue dry only maybe had an hour and a half in the actually cutting, glueing, screwing, staining, etc,. And the funny thing is… you'll be the first to know… this one, I actually sold on craigslist and built another one just like it that is in our bedroom. So the one on the video essentially made our current one free!! Joe

That's the way to do it! On an unrelated note I recently attended a meeting of the local gardeners club here in the small town I live in. The subject of the meeting was bee keeping, so I got the contact info from the lady ho was doing the presentation and hopefully will have my first hive of bees this spring. Im pretty excited about it hahaha.

+Braxton Wirthlin hahaha...noooo... that's actually sooo related Braxton! I'm sitting here loading video from my first honey harvest I had yesterday! I have four stings on my hand, but don't let that worry you as these are feral and slightly more aggressive Africanized bees and I was a bit rushed and rough when I opened the hive (or that's what I here... everything feral in AZ is Africanized). But it's such a cool thing to get into! I've been very 'trial and error' with my learning so far, but if you've already attended a meeting and are getting some good education/mentorship, you're already 5 steps ahead of where I started! I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress! Joe

Went to Home depot yesterday & Bought material when I got home layed all of the wood out like you after spending $150 on materials for the job... The guy after making me believe he knew what he was doing after watching your video screwed up!! He made the side boards 15 inches long! Wth I was not a happy camper so after thinking I could work with what I had after 2hrs & about 20-30 screws to hold it all together I was no way giving my daughter this for her birthday!! She would have laughed at me so now I just left home depot again they made good on the wood I'm trying it again 😃 out of over 200 comments I searched how is it no one asked what kind of stain you used? Just wanted to let you know that all of home depot in Ohio knows your video I told them all to look you up you were great!! So your video has been watched so many times in the last 2 days 😄 Thanks for sharing & if I could send a pic of my end result I would. I am engraving her name on the back with a wood burner also I am putting non slip tape on the bottom so she can also use it for a floor mirror 😉

Looks great. I have a living room table I bought back in 1990, it's survived 2 boys banging toys & everything else on it since then. I sanded it so new stain would adhere to it & it really has that vintage look. My in laws thought I bought a new table & wondered where I bought it, lol. Makes it look like an antique...I guess it is.
