Dude, the custom wooden mirror brackets are genius. Fabulous work!
This is by far the EASIEST tutorial that I've seen so far on making a frame for a standing mirror. It looks awesome. Thanks so much!!!!!!!
What a great husband for making that gorgeous mirror for your wife. God bless you.

Oh heck yeah! Brain WILL be making this for me once the house is complete! Nice work Joe! I’m going way back! 5years! Time sure does fly.
Simple AND eye catching. You just can’t beat it! Well done
Great design!
Thanks for making this project look so possible for non-woodworkers. My only woodworking experience is building a deck. Your video makes me feel like I can DO this! I have a nasty old builder-grade mirror that I took down (you know those rusty brown bits at the bottom...? Well I haven't been brave enough to destroy it to get rid of it. And I have an old deck to take down with weathered cedar boards. It's nasty on the deck, when the wasps come for nest building material, but it'll be fantastic on a rustic mirror frame! I think I can remake it better than the sum of its original parts. Just like you did. Thanks for inspiring and empowering me.
By far the best video on how to make a frame fir a cheap mirror EXCELLENT WORK

OH GOODNESS THANX FOR SHARING THIS...MY DAUGHTER HAS MIRROR AND WANTS A WOOD FRAME...YES IM SO GLAD YOU MADE IT EASY FOR BEGINNERS LIKE ME...THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN...CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE PROJECTS...
Thank you for explaining how to do this. I am making one for my daughters class at her Catholic School for their fundraising auction class project. I’m going to brand each of their initials into the rustic wood after I’m done. Can’t wait to see the end product!! Thanks again
Beautiful 😊
So good! And so simple! 👏🏽👏🏽
Perfect. Straight to the point. Great instructions and tips for getting a "rustic" look. Thanks!
Wow, that's really nice! Very clever way to make a rustic mirror with the rock and lag screw dings
Hello Joe, just wanted to say thanks a lot for this video. I helped my kids build this for my for wife for Mother's Day and it was a big hit. Great Job!
What I like about it is that it actually looks pretty simple.
Im very impressed with this project. Thank you for sharing how you did it!
Awesome! .... Great video ... Thanks
Very creative!
Clever way to create the rabbet for the mirror - Loving the rustic look, great build.
Another great way to add distress marks is a short piece of chain. I have a piece that's about a foot long that I welded some old nuts and bolts and other random pieces of metal on that really make some unique and random markings. Another great video! 👍🏻
so beautiful and easy idea

+Braxton Wirthlin thanks Braxton! Yes, this is a super easy project and except for letting the stain and glue dry only maybe had an hour and a half in the actually cutting, glueing, screwing, staining, etc,. And the funny thing is… you'll be the first to know… this one, I actually sold on craigslist and built another one just like it that is in our bedroom. So the one on the video essentially made our current one free!! Joe

That's the way to do it! On an unrelated note I recently attended a meeting of the local gardeners club here in the small town I live in. The subject of the meeting was bee keeping, so I got the contact info from the lady ho was doing the presentation and hopefully will have my first hive of bees this spring. Im pretty excited about it hahaha.

+Braxton Wirthlin hahaha...noooo... that's actually sooo related Braxton! I'm sitting here loading video from my first honey harvest I had yesterday! I have four stings on my hand, but don't let that worry you as these are feral and slightly more aggressive Africanized bees and I was a bit rushed and rough when I opened the hive (or that's what I here... everything feral in AZ is Africanized). But it's such a cool thing to get into! I've been very 'trial and error' with my learning so far, but if you've already attended a meeting and are getting some good education/mentorship, you're already 5 steps ahead of where I started! I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress! Joe
Great tips! The easiest way to make the frame. Thanks
This looks great. Thanks for a great diy video to follow along.

This was a great video! I'd try it myself if I didnt have a sweet little 3 month old! I'll see if my hubs will watch and get inspired. Thank you for making this video!
Went to Home depot yesterday & Bought material when I got home layed all of the wood out like you after spending $150 on materials for the job... The guy after making me believe he knew what he was doing after watching your video screwed up!! He made the side boards 15 inches long! Wth I was not a happy camper so after thinking I could work with what I had after 2hrs & about 20-30 screws to hold it all together I was no way giving my daughter this for her birthday!! She would have laughed at me so now I just left home depot again they made good on the wood I'm trying it again 😃 out of over 200 comments I searched how is it no one asked what kind of stain you used? Just wanted to let you know that all of home depot in Ohio knows your video I told them all to look you up you were great!! So your video has been watched so many times in the last 2 days 😄 Thanks for sharing & if I could send a pic of my end result I would. I am engraving her name on the back with a wood burner also I am putting non slip tape on the bottom so she can also use it for a floor mirror 😉
I’m looking to make some bathroom mirrors and watched this to get an idea of how it’s done. Yours turned out really nice. Good work.
Simple yet beautifully done. A lovely job.

Awesome job! Thank you so much, will be showing hubby. I'm hoping to make a sliding barn door with a mirror! This video should help out a lot! :)
Looks great. I have a living room table I bought back in 1990, it's survived 2 boys banging toys & everything else on it since then. I sanded it so new stain would adhere to it & it really has that vintage look. My in laws thought I bought a new table & wondered where I bought it, lol. Makes it look like an antique...I guess it is.
That looks great. The 'adding character' process looked very scientific!

I love the simplicity of the build with simple tools and how awesome it turned out. There are no routers, table saw jigs, wood planers , drill press ( all of which I have except the drill press). Keep up the great work, subscribed!
Thank you for the simple instructions on how to do this project. I've been looking for a mirror like this, they are very expensive. Thanks again, love the video!

+homesteadonomics Yes, I agree, a well done job. But Joe, what if the wife does not want to lean it up against the wall in 2 months? I think it would be pretty easy to add a pair of leaning legs on the back side with a simple hinge. Oh by the way, any progress on the sunken greenhouse? Cheers,Bill
@homesteadonomics

+William “Bill” Walter Thanks Bill! That's a great idea about the legs! As for the greenhouse…. yes, just talked about it with the wife today. The part I'm trying to coordinate right now is having access to a backhoe for a few hours to dig my trench… I probably could do it by hand, but you'd be seeing the finished greenhouse in 2017! LOL! Joe

I'm a little late but I am attempting this. The tutorial is epic helpful and i adore the rustic look with rocks to make small indentations in the wood before i stain it! The pocket screws will be a challenge for me but I'll see what i do.
Nice work Joe! I've been eyeing wall mirrors for some now, since you did a great job filming, I'm now going to have my husband do the same👍
