I'll say again - the whole truth about the conflict lays in Crimea, and any westerner will be able to obtain it (once the war ends) by going there and talking with random people. It's obviously not hard to find people in Crimea who oppose Russia and want back to Ukraine. There are thousands, tens of thousands of them. But if you just walk on the streets and ask random people, without specifically looking for opposition, you'll easily notice that majority of the population does in fact support Russia and want Crimea to be a part of it.

I heard somewhere some Chechen commander was talking about small scale tactical clearing of the area when their troops started retreating. Putin also did say he would use any means necessary to defend "Russian territory" right after the referendum. Very anxious for Ukraine. Ukrainians should be very careful and cautious in the upcoming days. Not having large concentration of troops at one city/town should be good idea

Doubtful. If so however, someone should remind him of which way the wind blows and of how close the area is to Russian territory. "Tactical" nukes may be relatively small but they still produce a significant amount of fallout... which in this case would make it's way to important Russian farmland.

He would have to put his podium about 25 MILES away from future audiences, as opposed to the 25 METERS he was away from them in that last speech where he attempted to legitimize his jackbooted "annexation" of territory. Not to say he wouldn't do it. I think he might. But I think he also values his OWN life above all others, and dropping nukes in his own backyard is NOT the recipe for longevity. It really comes down to whether his handlers / wranglers can keep him from ordering launches, whether those people will ACTUALLY launch, whether the weapons are even still serviceable, and whether the US has given Ukraine's military any kind of missile defense that might take out incoming warheads.

@Lo-fi commie this invasion reminds me of my first games with the millenium dawn mod in hoi4, before they put any real cap on ai sending volunteers to countries, so every war would have massive amounts of volunteers from everywhere. I remember playing as russia, i invaded ukraine rather early on, started pushing them back rather quickly before nato started sending them dozens of divisions and enough supplies to build 10 armies, before you knew it they pushed me into russia, ukraine joined nato and they all invaded me, then i did the rational thing, deleted the save lol

Russia was never a super power, just a nuclear power. Russia was never string financially, and now their feared army has shown itself to be completely pants ! Russia can also say goodbye to its arms export business now the whole world can see how poor Russian equipment actually performs on a battlefield. Putins days are numbered.

This is interesting point about morale. Makes you understand more the importance of the Nazi propaganda machine in motivating their soldiers before and during WW2.

I support Ukraine in the fullest, but I also have an understanding of Russia's nuclear weapon's policy and capabilities as well as the different weapons that they have extensively tested throughout the years for their delivery.
