FYI, the message in the end about terroristic organizations is there to avoid legal issues. Russian law requires that any mention of terroristic organizations must add "this organization is considered a terrorist organization and is illegal in the Russian Federation." Although as far as I am aware, this is only a thing for news agencies, not sure if the games are supposed to do that, but I guess they probably wanted to play it safe.

Had the chance to meet Dmitry Babkin (the man from credits) himself multiple times and talked with him a lot about the game when I came to apply to work in CatsWhoPlay studio. Totally nice, down-to-earth guy. Nobody gave them money to make this game. I have no idea who spread the rumor that this game was somehow supported by Russian state (although I understand that it's believable). It was partially crowd-funded, partially funded from bank loan and profits from the game barely covered the loan. When I talked with him about the Prokhorenko and how cheesy the dialog was, he told me that he just saw the story in the web and recited the conversation letter to letter.

I remember this game. The politics were a little heavy handed at times, but the gameplay was surprisingly good, and it was interesting to see such a different perspective then the USA/NATO or even Russian, though the Russian do certainly play a major part.

This game is highly underrated. It’s more polished than Men of War and the English voice acting is better too. As for the politics, I think it’s unavoidable considering the conflict is still kind of going on. At least we still get to play this game from Russia even though we’re fighting against them in a proxy war

As an Arab I do approve of this game, I do have an RPG in my kitchen and an AK in my pillow.

Jist a small titbit. The message at the end of credits is pretty much mandatory whenever you mention ISIS in any Russian media, at least when they were mentioned in the news and the like. About games funding, I honestly kinda doubt it. There were talks for years about goverment funding of russian video-game industry how it's happening with our current movie industry, yet all of it was is talk. Believe me, if such games existed wast majority of news media would have been advertising it incessantly, like they do with our current "blockbusters". Also, how to know it isn't made by FSB or Putin and all other crap? We literally can't make ANY even half-decent propaganda. I shit you not! Actually look at our current "propaganda" movies and they either a pointless dribble that says nothing (because it was just money-laundering scheme by their creators, like 90% of our state fonded cinema) or they so bad as propaganda that it works literally backwards, supporting what they try to denounce and all that. So the fact that this game actually ended up pretty decent kinda speaks for itself. Our people literally started making our own propaganda because state is impotent at it, which is just hilarious.

Well it's easy. When you everyday reminded that ISIS, Taliban, or something else - is a bad, terrorist force - you are less likely compel to think "well, maybe they are not that bad?" So what this thing does is just remind you, that yes- they ARE bad. They blow people lulz only, they forcing sharia law, which is kinda barbaric, they cut off heads just for propaganda. So yap, terrorists.

It's so awesome to see a game on contemporary events that is unafraid to just depict them. It's a little ham fisted, but the game is less Syria propaganda and more Russian armed forces propaganda. Syria is pretty accurate, but the Russians are basically benevolent terminators. Good game though, reminiscent of something from 2006: No microtransactions, no live services, the game is a fully packaged unit.

Just played this mission and had to occupy the buildings to unlock the “Where did those rockets come from?” achievement.

I feel like some of these maps could be replicated in arma quite well (perhaps as part of larger maps since they are all very small) Russian propaganda has some good level design

Most of the Russian economy is state owned, and run by the oligarchs not very "free market" or "Capitalist" for that sake.

Next up we get a racing game about that weird time in 2019/2020 when Russian and US patrols essentially played Mario Card against each other

I love the hell out of this game, I own it myself and have thoroughly enjoyed the way it portrays Russia and Syria's government. A shame no Kurdish fighters were put up as allies in the game, or that the game never had a multiplayer. You should try the really well-done Workshop mods out there, there is a whole total conversion mod for this game that sets it in Japan against North Korea I think.

I like how the game used a recorded history of Weaponized Autism as a mission

But where is the American soldier riding a horse killing a thousand Russians with a minigun and blowing up a giant Soviet double-barreled tank with a rocket launcher? Realism must be added to the game.

Falcon 4 out here about to start an IRL international incident. That was a fucking roast.

I love this game, and would really like to see you do the expansions too. The first two missions of Return to Palmyra are, in my opinion, the absolute best the game has to offer, even if the others after it are a bit more of a slog. I haven't started the other DLC yet, but I'll be having a go at some point.

For anyone interested: The music during the sacrifice scene was from a youtuber by the name Grishanov. The name of the song is "Dying but not surrendering". He has an entire music video which ends in a similar manner to the scenario in the game. The music is in-sync with the video.

if you haven't played it, I would recommend World in Conflict: Complete Edition it's a really great rts with great campaign with a good choices of artillery and fire support and intense battles. It's a pretty old game.

@@user-sg3eu6hb2f that's true my friend but the good side is decided by the winners and in our case the good guys are those who have a warm relationship with NATO or the USA a perfect example is Myanmar kantafi .when he tried to harm USA interests in the region from a stabilizing factor he became a ruthless dictator

And yes, I love the Mi-28 helicopters in the last mission. Two flying Rambo blow everyone to smithereens. "Лисий хвост, Волчья пасть" "Выше нас - только звезды" Это две самые запоминающиеся фразы от спецназа ГРУ сказанные голосом робота. И да, обожаю в последней миссии вертолеты Ми-28. Два летающих Рэмбо разносят всех в пух и прах.

I know this has nothing to do with the video but I was thinking about some games i think you may enjoy, they are conflict zone(ps2),seek and destroy(ps2) and warzone 2100(pc and ps)but its up to you, nice to see you enjoying a game.

I now want this team to work on other conflicts this game is pretty solid would like to see more.

I really like this game, it gives me old Sudden Strike II vibes as in it was difficult and unforgiving but when you won it was great.

Hey Rimmy! You would definitely lovev the Warfare game. The same engine and mechanics. The best wargame about the possible war in Saudi Arabia. I am new to your channel so you might probably already played it. The plot, the music, the authentity (US soldiers emails and thoughts inspired on real ones from Iraq and Afghanistan wars) of what you see etc.

Man I’m so happy Rimmy brought this game to light, I think it’s way underrated.

Again i hope rimmy sees this as there is a prequel of sorts called Warfare its old but its the same style but following the US. its a bit old but still just as fun.

Rimmy plays this inside of a T-72M for full immersion.

Russian Propaganda has never looked so good. Probably on a CIA watch-list just from typing that.
