France and England were like so bad enemies that all they probably thought of was how to eliminate each other. Russia has had a better history with France than England or Germany. Modern times, however, took a different turn.

Just one fact about "good" relatations of Rus and France - not Hitler, Elizabeth or ottomans burn in Moscow, Smolensk and other cities till the dust, but Napoleonic France and allies do this, where's here better history beetween of us?, WW2 is Second Great Patriotic War for us (Rus), the First one been our war with France and allies in 1812. Modern times - we have not see many differences.
