Actually very accurate depiction. I would also insert a moment in between, year 2001. President of Ukraine Kuchma basically explains to his citizens "Ukraine equals Anti-Russia". Nobody even understood what he meant. But it was covert take over of Ukrainian authority by c.i.a. Everybody knows it. And it raised big questions whether UA is going to execute their part of 1994 Budapest deal about nukes, i.e. being neutral away from military alliances. And CIS/EU are not military alliances, but at the same time NATO put a condition that Ukraine gives them Crimea before joining EU. That was their condition back in 2001.

Not only Donetsk suffered from rockets and MRLSs, but Kramatorsk and Mariupol' too. Both cities were controlled by Ukraine during these 8 years. Oh, and compare the view of Donetsk after 8 years (10 years now) shelling by bloodthirsty Ukrainians - and Mariupol after 2,5 months of "liberation" by peaceloving Russians. Also you may look for the photos and videos of Grozniy after Russia solved its own separatist problem. The same man that is trying to "defend and liberate" Ukrainian cities now was in presidential chair of Russia then.

If it were pre-2014 and the US just backed off, likely things would have been fine (or at least far more peaceful than now). It wouldn't be likely to happen easily now given the inevitable bad blood that has developed, but I do believe ultimately Putin has calculated this wisely and figures wisely that the ends do justify the cost (avoiding a repeat of 1812/1941). NATO does invade countries (Iraq). Trusting fully that such a powerful military force (like NATO) would not abuse this position is a fool's game, and though Russia ultimately won glorious victories in those two conflicts, it is worth paying a smaller price than paying such a high price again in the future. The world needs balance and that means no one government gets to ultimately always right in geopolitics (USA at the moment, via their military power and decreasingly economic power) even when their wrong.

Сойдёт разве что для тех, кто вообще не в курсе, что происходит в нашей части мира. Но к сожалению, в видео заметный перекос в сторону украинской пропаганды. Украина показана слишком белой, пушистой и миролюбивой, будто не устраивала всего этого п**деца с титушками, бандеровцами, правым сектором, сжиганием людей в Одессе, демонизацией России и всего русского, неисполнением минских соглашений и тп. А США будто просто сбоку припёку. Просто предложили дружить. Ага. Россия здесь показана более менее адекватно. Включая имперские замашки, жизнь прошлым, сферой влияния и тп. Тут согласен. Россия ведёт себя агрессивно и не рассматривает Украину как равного соседа. Ну так увы, Украина и не является равным соседом. С потрохами продались врагу России (США и Великобритании) и десятилетиями проводили русофобскую недружественную политику. И, конечно, война явилась прямым следствием такой политики. США добились чего хотели. А бедный народ Украины страдает больше всего.
