I love the bias of this upload. "Russell Crowe being rude". Get real! The reporter was the rude one. She asked a strange question (possibly to try and get on his good side) without knowing anything about the subject. I wouldn't expect everyone to know the differences between league and union (even I don't), but he tried to politely correct her and steer her in the right direction (away from the pointless question). Her response to that? Continue with the same question. When he gets a little bit testy (not rude) the second time, she responds by trying to pull him up on something he said, like some bratty little 12 year old that has been shown up in front of their friends. Amateur hour reporting. Considering Russell's history of having a bad temper, I would say that he handled himself very well by just walking away.

Maybe if your reporter did some research before going and asking questions like this he wouldn't feel the need to walk away. Also he then waited for a next question after that blunder and she continued to ask him about him saying Ireland was in the UK? He was there to promote his film, your reporter should be there to ask about it. Maybe next time if you ever let her out on something like this again (Which I don't think you should) you should probably get her to research the questions, the film and not try to counteract answers with bringing up previous mistakes made by him.

I don't think he was rude. I think the reporter was just not listening to what he was saying. And I think people just don't want to accept that a good actor like Russell Crowe just MIGHT be a private person that doesn't like to be bothered all the time. Doesn't mean he doesn't love his fans. I love my family but I'm a private person and need my space alone and sometimes I just don't want to be bothered by anyone, even if I'm out doing stuff. I just want to do my thing and that's it. I think that's how Russell Crowe is, he's just his own person. And nothing says every actor in the world absolutely, positively HAS to be extremely social and super-nice every moment of his life caught on camera whether he knows it or not.

See South Parks Russell Crowe would have handled that very differently
I don't think he was rude. I think the reporter was just not listening to what he was saying. And I think people just don't want to accept that a good actor like Russell Crowe just MIGHT be a private person that doesn't like to be bothered all the time. Doesn't mean he doesn't love his fans. I love my family but I'm a private person and need my space alone and sometimes I just don't want to be bothered by anyone, even if I'm out doing stuff. I just want to do my thing and that's it. I think that's how Russell Crowe is, he's just his own person. And nothing says every actor in the world absolutely, positively HAS to be extremely social and super-nice every moment of his life caught on camera whether he knows it or not.

In my opinion it was the reporter who was rude and uninformed.
How was her rude? He made a simple explanation at the beginning and she stupidly chose to try to keep flogging the proverbial dead horse and he called her out basically. There was nothing to it.

He was totally being rude arrogant and obnoxious there was no need for him to respond like he did she asked a genuine question, Aussie Rules football and Gaa football are two different sports but they manage to play against each other it's not beyond the realms of possibility and fair play to her for turning the tables on him at the end
