You probably should know the channel marks for the bridge, and no speed restrictions on boats, only PWC. You're not doing terrible for newbies out there. I don't have it sorted and just gave up mostly on beyond the cape. Good on ya for the persistence and raw vids. 🤙

You can turn the brightness down on your sounder by pressing the ON button a couple of times. This will help your eyes adjust to the dark and make it easier to see

That 1st fish is a Sargent baker. pretty good eating if you boil them with a rock and when the rock goes soft eat the rock.

This video hit home for me. Brought me back to some of the first times my Dad let me take the helm and we went offshore for some fish. We both found more than the fish we were looking for that day. Enjoy the times that you have, that's all that we can do. Savor the flavor! You've got a great thing (family) going! Keep those lines tight!

Wow you guys got all the action on this trip out! Nice to see James showing up the old man. Also glad you include the whole process of cleaning and fileting them, then cooking them with ingredients from your garden. Self-sufficiency at its finest!

James certainly showed me up, alright! I take offence to "old man" LOL... Thanks for the feedback on the filleting, cooking, and homegrown ingredients. I do want this channel to cross over almost seamlessly from Self Sufficient Me as I think it is better placed to show using what we grow and catch because it's part of the fishing content culture anyway (catch and cook). Cheers :)

Mark, you need to get some Junkie Jigs, bait fishing is old school. Made in NZ, just like your boat :) They carve up on snapper over here, don't know why they wouldn't dominate over there also

The tuskies are 2nd best eating to the pealies. I always keep the skin on the fish as all the good omega oils are between the flesh and skin.

A little tip. If your catching sargeant baker the snapper are down there. They live in the same areas.sargeant bakers taste not the best and are full of bones.

Great as always Mark 👍 I love fishing but sadly haven’t been for a few years 🥲 but I do love watching my Ozzie mate ( you ) enjoy your trips . Seeing the whale was wow, stunningly beautiful creature. James is just like you but we still love him 🤣😂🤣 The meal at the end looked F-ing delicious 👍 Both your channels are A1 mate, I’ve watched and thoroughly enjoyed every episode ( I take your advice and it always works well 👍 ) 👍Best wishes to you and your family and big thanks for the great videos, from Britain 👍👍🇦🇺🇬🇧
