    @jaymueller2418 Жыл бұрын

    This is really silly. The evidence for appropriate and optimal cadence isn’t that everyone needs to sit at 180 and nobody here thinks that. But showing Isa on bolt at 270 and Walmsley at 160 or 170 isn’t proof of concept. They’re doing completely different things. There is good evidence to support that a cadence that is consistently too low for your height, mechanics, and speed causes greater soft tissue strain that can be mitigated by increasing the cadence. As always, individual variation will supersede generalisations…but on a population level this is true.

    186 and 190 are damn close considering that's the type of running they recommend it for

    It's more an issue of form and heel striking, the higher your cadence the shorter your stride and the more likely you are to have good form. Very few people can run at 160spm and avoid bad form

    My cadence ranges from 170 - 195 depending on speed. As speed increases so does cadence and stride length .

    Best cadence depends on what speed you are running and how you body is shaped to find the optimal one, you have to find what cadence is the least jarring to run at.
